First, A red driveway is always in style! Second, I got it out of the state of maine. Third, justaman6972 I'm not sure where you are located, but I would be willing to sell the 16/1 as it sits on the trailer. contact me at crash4me@gmail.com
@crash4me719 , I'm just now learning about these diesels and I'm in the market. I'm going soon to an off-grid location and the Lister seems perfect along with solar, etc. Do you mind sharing where you bought your equipment? Is it still available in the States? Is yours still for sale? I live in Florida.
ahrite dang it where did you get this Lister man? Seriously! I gotta have one. I'm getting off the grid if it kills me. I'm sporting half a chubbie watching you run that thing..peace
You sure have a GREAT rig here I sure would love to see lots more videos from you about it.
How about a few videos showing us all how your Lister is doing as your single source of power ?
It would be great to see some real world data on you living with just the power you produce from your rig. (how much Diesel are you eating up and what are you running with all that power you produce??)
...How about toss'in some more bones to the Greenhorns out here?(LOL!)
@Ooloosoon First, I open the crankcase, cleaned it out, re-did the piping for an oil filter and filled it up with Amsoil Diesel oil. It runs good and I believe it to be of good quality. I only have 10 hours on it, but I'm going to knock my house down and live in a motor home and this will be my power for several days. When I start it now, I clamp it to the John Deere, so no more wheelies!!
@crash4me719 where did you buy the engine i whant to buy another lister and dont know where to get one i have been on many websites and cant seem to find a price list it whould be greatly apreciated thanks
@crash4me719 sorry for the late response - that's really affordable if you consider it long-term, even in my country - dad's truck would fix the delivery!....
16 - 1 i never knew they made them that big - is this a stroked and bored Listeroid? It really thumps and spins compared too a mellow 5-1 - thanks for posting
You need to add more braces and clamps here, there and about. Anything that wiggles or shakes while the engine runs is bound to crack over time. Replace any solid metal lines with flex lines. Don't have heavy pipe fittings out on the end of any length of pipe. I have learned the hard way that if it wiggles or jiggles AT ALL - - - over time it will break.
LincTexPilot, Thanks for the advice. I will put a brace on the pipe leaving the thermostat, but the water pump pipe is short. I will look around next time I run the generator for things that wiggle. Thanks again!
About one quart an hour at half load. Waiting for power failure due to snow fall soon to see how long the 8 gallons will last. We get about 101 inches a year for snow, but way behind this year.
Sweet setup.

Thats a really nice setup. A lister engine being used for something purposefully. Nice

That's a real nice and well thought out Build.
I would be a bit concerned about all teh vibration though. Well engineered setup just the same.

This is a very nice build. Good job!!!!
ZS6JMP 1 year ago
The newer Lister engines vibrate much more than the older ones,
don't they? Anything that flops and jiggles like that is going to shake
itself apart eventually, like if you ever actually need it for constant
use under emergency conditions.

dat bouncing doesnt look good!! i want to install it on a boat!

...Is your Lister a direct injection or a indirect injection (think it looks like a Mico injector sticking out there??)
also have been running any veg oil in that thing? if so whats your opinion of veg oil as fuel??

So how would you rate the Metro Lister quality?
did this thing run one off right out of the crate or did you have to break the thing down and do a pre-re-build job on her first?
Would love to hear your opinion on the quality of the engine.
And whats the deal with Metro anyway? i hear they are actually Field Marshal engines with a Metro plate put on them.

Oolosoon,
I welded two 4" I beems with 3 1/2" box steel as cross section. It is a custom axle with Goodyear rubber.

Have you measured fuel consumption at a specific load. I have imagined a configuration like this. Where did you get your engine and ST head?

goldie103103 2 years ago
