I've seen Mr. Portman's Jobs Plan on his website. There is no substance whatsoever. He supported NAFTA in Congress. He helped Bush create and push through CAFTA. Worked with China to help increase Chinese Imports into U.S.
Before beginning his political carreer he was an International Trade Lawyer, working for powerful Washington Lobbyist firm (Patton Boggs).
Rob Portman believes wind energy will create jobs and reduce our dependence on fossil fuel. Why is it that anyone would try to sell an energy idea by touting it's jobs impact? Because wind energy isn't about energy. It's on-again-off-again performance requires a backup energy source to create a stable product. In Ohio, that source is natural gas. For every kWH from wind, 2 to 3 must come from natural gas generators, locking us into fossil fuel while claiming to free us from it.
It’s somewhat ironic that a former head of the Office of Management and Budget would favor increasing spending to enact a policy that is almost certainly less efficient than the one that's paid-for
@braffle You might not have noticed that Portman is not running against Sherrod Brown, who is an outstanding senator, btw. This ad opposes cap and trade which WAS a Republican idea. It only became an idea they opposed when the Democrats decided to go along with it. Ohio Cannot afford Portman and the bankrupt ideas he supports.
Rob Portman is responsible for NDAA.
Portman you will be found eliminated.

Rob Portman supports drug prohibition and the prosecution of victimless crimes.
This expands the access of dangerous narcotics on the part of our children and is deeply immoral.
Drug prohibition leads to corruption, crime, and the expensive and costly erosion of our basic civil rights.
I would vote for Rob Portman if it weren't for his zeal in supporting the jailing of those who've not harmed anyone.
