Would love to see a DVD at some point! Glad they didn't tour...love these guys but Plant wouldn't be able to hack a whole tour of such demanding material like the old days...and Jimmy isn't what he used to be either. Glad they did this gig though. Very cool...saw Plant last night in Boston and he was great. He made a difficult choice but I think he took the high road.

I know what you're sayin', but I saw them in '71 at 11, and then '73, '75 and '77 and then Page and Plant in '95 and '98 and then saw the taped O2 show in 2007 and the energy level, intensity and passion is still there, they me be old and grey but they are still as professional in 2007 as they were in 1969 and even more so because they are more lucid without the drugs.

I wouldn't really call it an insult to John when his "replacement" came from his own flesh and blood. I think it was rather fitting, myself. Jason is not his father, but he is a very fine drummer and if Bonzo himself could have planned it, I believe he would have wanted it this way.

You are partially correct because as far as rock drumming is concerned, nobody, and I mean nobody, has ever touched John Bonham. With his unique combination of power, speed, endurance, feel, and deep groove, he remains the epitome and apex of rock drumming. I say that in full recognition of many excellent and a few spectacular drummers that have rocked over the years. Bonham simply remains in a class by himself. However, it was a tribute and honor, not an insult, for John's son to sit in.

I do agree about your statement of Bonzo's sheer power, but i must say that there were definetly other drummers who "touched him." For example, Ginger Baker or Neil Peart have more base skill than Bonham. Sorry if I offended any intense Bonham fans out there, Led Zeppelin is still my favourite band of all time.

It sounds like Jimmy has taken advantage of some new technology, self tuning and multi tuning guitars, and a very solid, steady, sound. He also sounds like he's playing well, with fingers moving freely on the fretboard. Wonderful.
