  • Way better than Iphone 4 fuck yes! can't wait to get it! fuck mac!

  • i got my nokia n900 and i keep forgetting that you can make calls lol, i get 3.5 g's of signal. i can even switch to gsm or both 3 g and gsm. i love this thing here...

  • i just got the N900 today but will return-its too tiny and makes my eyes squint

    i thought it was larger

  • cool

  • nokia still my favourite phone developer. but only problem is.. im sure most of you will agree is that not many companies develop good apps for it... sure there are a few good ones on the ovi store.. but if we had more choice would be great.

  • @towerguarder 7 month old comment but: HELL YES. But it does have a resistive screen soo not a lot of games could work nicely on it.

  • this is not linux based...this is linux

  • @davncyyo

I think when it is stated in the description "linux-based," it does mean that it has linux. It's a manner of expressing the same thing...

  • Awesome, but Im not feeling the 'landscape only' mode. It feels unnatural for me.

  • Beautifull *.* nokia rulz! =D

  • All depends of settings and use. Whether or not you want to keep it constantly connected to the web or not, and how much multi-tasking you leave running. People have been testing the pre-launch model and have been getting the same life as an iPhone give or take an hour with regular use.

A normal user should be able to last a couple of days between charges. Typical smart-phone stuff really.

  • You do know that Skype's deeply integrated within the OS, right?

  • what they need is apps

  • Open source linux based OS, they'll be plenty of apps that get released for this. :)

  • Swoot u got to use in portroid mode. That really sucks I'll stick to my Pre :)

  • hmmm what do you think guys this or the Xperia x1?

  • awesome...

  • xperia xi

  • n900 for sure... X1 is full of glitches. My friend hates his. But there is gonna be a new Xperia from what i heard. =)

  • yeah for $1000

  • I don't understand; why doesn't this replace the N97? If it is capable of watching AVI, MPG, etc. and it can watch flash -- both of which the N97 cannot do -- why doesn't Nokia sell this off as the N97? Is it the production costs?

  • Because the N900 is from a different generation of devices they call MID's. It is an advancement over the N810 and is the 4th generation of Maemo devices out of a planned 5. So from the start of this generation these devices were in a whole different league. Also, Nokia may not make much profit if they dubbed this as a flagship device that supersedes the N97 as the N97 was released not too long ago.

  • I can understand if their decision is purely fiscal. But it would have been better to merge the mobile internet device and phone into one powerhouse tool. Of course, it would have better for the customers only; it would have been a bad decision for Nokia.

  • The N97 Does Support Flash You Idiot.

After The New 2.0 Firmware Comes Out On Friday, Alot Of The Problems People Have With The N97 Software Will Be Solved.

  • Lol, calm your ass down, retard. Looks like a Nokia fanboy jumped out of nowhere.

  • How Am I The Retard And You Are The One That Said The N97 Don't Support Flash. That's Like One Of The Dumbest Things I Heard All Week.

  • Really? A misstatement is one of the dumbest things you've heard all week? You really are a retard, and your style of typing further supports my point.

  • Clearly I Was Being Sarcastic.

    Moron.

  • Man, you really are a retard. The word you are looking for is exaggerating or hyperbolic. Jesus, morons using words they don't understand again. I'm not going to bother responding again as it would be unfair for me to argue with someone that might actually be mentally disabled. Good luck and remember to wear that bicycle helmet. You wouldn't want to accidentally get hurt by your own stupidity.

  • still waiting for the head implant phone

  • Damn I am in love with this device. been waiting like a zombie for 2 months now. Hoping to get this phone by this year or early next year

  • When the desktop is visible, yes, you get directly to the phone UI when you just turn the device in portrait.

There's a setting to enable or disable this functionality, so obviously it won't work if the setting is turned off.

  • how much it costs ??????? its a really cool stuff from NOKIA... wooo inet tablet + smart phone !!! wowow... btw NICE SLIMMY DESIGN :)

  • battery's stamina?

  • can nokia PLEASE CREATE AN APPLICATION THAT USES THE FORWARD FACING CAMERA FOR US CUSTOMERS. THERE IS NO REASON WE CANT VIDEO CHAT AT LEAST OVER WIFI. SHEEEESSHH. USELESS.

  • thers no point in video calling it's lame

  • i said 'VIDEO CHAT'

AND THERE IS A POINT TO IT. NOKIA STILL HASNT EVENT COME OUT WITH THEIR INTEGRATED SKYPE CLIENT, OR EVEN A MYSPACE WIDGET FOR N97, WHAT GIVES YOU CONFIDENCE IN THIS DEVICE WITH SOFTWARE?

  • ok video chat/calling same thing, as for widgets they'll probably bring some out when it launches, but why would you need widgets when you get pretty much full internet. And as for confidence in the software well... it looks like everything works ok in the demo.

  • because, when you arent on 3g, applications matter, you need the functionality of a widget or app. This thing will choke if yo have too much open and it will limit what you can have open.

  • not necessarily, it was designed so you can have multiple apps open at once

  • so was the n97, fail. i can imagine windows open querying servers constantly through web browser and running flash. battery may be toast. I wish someone would review the keyboard, as that could kill the device if it is as bad as the n97.

  • dude its Linux based, when was the last time you heard of something Linux based screwing up, it'll work, plus its got a decent amount of RAM for a such a device

  • agree 1000% about the linux os :P

  • do u know what, i tell u some thing funny, i got n97 the battry was crap at start, but its lasting quite good now lol its weird

  • my battery was quite good. radio is good too. usabilty, crap. Although i am going to buy this, I think it may be sold for an android device again. I hope the mail app is better than the cheap nokia mail stuff. i also hope they dont rely solely on web apps. linux is great sure, but nokia always seems to screw on major thing up with their handsets.

  • u dodo.. theres a forward facing cam on this one... research much?

  • no shit, no apps for them on n97 or this. n97 still hasnt integrated it into a skype client or anything else. RESEARCH MUCH?

  • u do realise, its not something thts not possible to get an app for.. i can see why u pointed this out so quickly, cozskype users obv end up video chatting, but nokia's 'push' scheme, involves hackers to manipulate n900 to different uses.. they might come out with it, At least this phone is a maemo which can be tweaked coz of its open software, the symbian in n97 is a few steps behind in that sense and my meant for you to chill with the caps lock... its only a phone we are talking about, jeez!

  • well, was really not happy with n97 and the apps. Did they even get a myspace widget yet? Just simple stuff that takes them forever. what about old maemo? was that any good?

  • lol had to be a fag talking, didn't it? and he had to be flaming like a motherfucker

  • This is the second review I've seen where this rep can't get "portrait" and "landscape" correct. :)

  • I want to see video record test

  • one mistake in the vid: the easiest way to get to the phone function isnt via shortcut...simply tilt it to portrait and it goes to the phone mode.

  • are you sure? just wake the phone up and tilt it? Do you have to have the application open?

  • @AAWien really how?...plazz tell me does'nt happen in mine ...

  • @nicecake777 - you need to open the phone app, and choose the option that enable the tilt to initiate the phone app.

  • @AAWien thnx dude ill try it ...
