ahhh the original Gunslinger music in Westworld is so fantastic, why cover it up??? This techno stuff is OK but the real music was so good - real instruments played violently to the rhythm of Brynner's marching as he stalked Richard Benjamin. If I could find my Westworld DVD I'd upload the scenes I'm thinking of.
Yul is wearing the same outfit and is based on Cris in "The Magnificent Seven" an unstoppable leader of a band of hired guns. (Remember Cris was very fast and never gave up, "The first man that quits, so help me, I'll blow his head off" he said.
@SallyImpossible Totally agree, that theme by Fred Karlin was brilliant, really captured the feel of the movie. Pretty avant-garde, like Jerry Goldsmith. Everyone plays safe today.
Brynner was amazing too, even as a robot; and that walk he had!
In Robocop,I think ,Vernoeven did a sort of homage to this;in the film there is space-cowboy TV programme where the hero spins his gun in holstering the weapon.
This movie had to be inspiration for the Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman series. Except when the face mask comes off, it's not the same design as fembots. No mouth speaker and eyes on the circuit board... just a hollow cavity with wires. Which is creepier??
How many found themselves rooting for the robot? I wished he would shoot Richard Benjamin. The robot is based on Chris leader of "The Magnificent Seven" what other gunslinger could be so dangerous as Chris, a character that never gave up and always killed who he was after?
This movie, still gives me the chills, everytime I watch it! the funny thing, why is it, that older movies I can still recall and remember them, new movies, I forget???? Yul Brynner, at his best!
pepsAttack is a pretty common fungal infection of the groin and upper thighs. It's part of a group of fungal skin infections called tinea (pronounced: tih-nee-uh), and it's related to athlete's foot and ringworm (by the way, ringworm isn't really a worm - it's a fungus). The medical name for all of these types of fungal infections is a tinea infection, and the medical name pepsAttack is tinea cruris (pronounced: tih-nee-uh krur-us).
Sorry but Michael Crichton wrote Westworld while Harlan Ellison (originally uncredited), James Cameron, and Gale Anne Hurd wrote the Terminator. Likely the person as thinking of the Terminal Man.

For any fan of the 1973 cult classic 'Westworld', this video is the BOMB! Yul's an unbeatable robotic predator whose icy stares and unrelenting malevolence against his human prey still gives me the chills to this day! Thanks, nullzerovoid!
Thanks. I agree that Yul Brynner was by far the best for the role as the gunslinger robot. I hear that 'Westworld' is where they got the idea for 'The Terminator'. Thanks for watching.
Westworld was one of my favorites as a kid. I think the Gunslinger was far more intimidating than the Terminator could ever be. Maybe it was those 'Riddick' eyes he had going on.
I wanna see Gunslinger vs. T-800 battle.
