Well this was a lively debate. Take a look at the recently uploaded video by gotanika (August 09) and then read gotanika's comment again. It may make you smile. Dearey me petal!

Stupid, without meaning steps.This new breed of tango dancers, as they trying to mimic the great chicho and arce, are simply inventing new but useless feet figures(which are performing them poorly) and they even get paid for it!!! They make money and reputation basicly by faking tango.

Dear 2XTANgo. I tried to reply with video response but i saw that you already have dozens of great tango videos. My dancing, and my abilities are irrelevant to our comments here. Perhaps if i was Argentine my comments would have more importance for you? I can have opinion and taste and since these people are exposing themselves ,they are subject to critisism. I wish that your reply has something to do with my comment and not for my dancing. The topic is the stupid steps and the tango trash.

I basically agree with 2xtango that this is a pointless/direspectfull comment. It is sort of similar to many of the comments that I see posted on "nuevo" videos. How can you say that these steps are without meaning? In fact what is the meaning of saying, "without meaning steps?" The meaning is that it is fun and enjoyable for the couple to do, and is a way to bring out different rythmns in dancing. What is the meaning of any step? As these dancers are friends with chicho, sebastian/mariana

I doubt that there is any feeling of mimicry. There is a simple reason why they are getting paid to teach... the people in the enjoy dancing in the style of the teacher. You don't like that style/ want to learn to dance as they do, fine, no one is forcing you to. Where I disagree with 2xtango is that I think that the way in which you dance is irrelevant. It is the attitude that your steps have meaning but these don't which is troubling, not your qualifications as a dancer.

You´re right, probably I was a bit rude with gotanika and everybody can say I like or not this kind of dance. The problem is sometimes I read comments without respect to the people who try to transmit what they know.

I agree with you that there are a lot of disrespectful comments out there, and this was one of them. Its one thing to make a comment about posture, technique, musicality, etc... That isn't what happened. Really the comment was most insulting to the people taking the class, as if they were incapable of determining what kind of dancing they enjoyed and should instead only dance in the "traditional/meaningful" way. I'm not sure what that means, as there has always been change...

This new style of dancing may have added something new, like playfulness as they claim, but it has lost the sensuality of the tango that i know. Indeed, how the man ends his demo with that lady it most typicial. Did he see more than her feet?

Por otro lado neotanga'CON COMPLEJO DE ANTICRISTO', me sorprende ver que llegues a ver hasta el final del video, si no te gusta... para que carajo chusmeas?! O estas afanando, frustrado del orto??? Seguro que estas pegado a la compu para ver lo que todos estos grosos andan haciendo y despues vas y te haces unas moneditas para el bondi por ahi!!!
