  • Last night I saw the sun come out, senor!

  • This is still my favorite score of Mr. John Williams. Just saw the film again, for the millionith time, really interesting after watching the whole Ancient Aliens series. As Roy, Julian and Larry move closer to Devil's Tower after Larry drops out on the light side of the moon, the score increases in intensity. Really an amazing score. Just saw Tintin, and John Williams quotes often from the Indiana Jone's series, though orchestrated differently. D. Alexandr D'Maddalena

  • My grandfather was a stuntman and a parachutist... in 1941, he parachuted onto Devil's tower and got stuck up there for 6 days. It was a $50 bet... google it! he's famous for it:)

  • I went there many years ago. Back in the 80s. I remember being there at night and being able to see it with the stars behind it. I was waiting for the UFOs and the mothership. Very beautiful it is!!!! I want to take my kids to see it. My son is into UFOs and aliens and stuff.

It's so cool knowing that it's an extinct volcano.

  • @Chrisdragon121 It´s sad that you didnt see any ufo :) Not even a shooting star?

  • Thanks for posting! I wanted to see Devil's Tower, too .. but by the time I reached it, the sun had set and it was snowing! And I almost ran out of gasoline! Wish I could go back, because it's fantastic!

  • Great Video. Nothing can set the mood..and tell the story than that of John William's arrangements. Always seems to encapsulate the visual within the music.

  • excellent video

id have thought the place would ve been full of UFO spotters

  • Amazing video and a very special place. I camped there for 3 nights in '06 and have many photos. It's truly relaxing and quiet. The month I was there, June, was a spiritual month among the Indians and no climbing was permitted. Highly recommend going to anyone! CE3K is an amazing movie!

  • This place is a trip. I remember my family took a road trip up to this place, then cut across to Yellowstone, then down to the Grand Canyon and back to El Paso. It was the best 2 weeks of my life. That part of the U.S. is absolutely amazing and beautiful and I'll never forget those days. Thank you for posting this and bringing back all those memories.

  • this place is amazing stopped there on my way back from the Sturgis bike rally. My dad and I ate lunch in the picnic area down bellow the main part and it was really nice. It was so quite and peaceful down there I haven't felt that at peace with the universe in a long time. theres just something about this place i'm sure all who come here feel it I can't be the only one.

  • I have a memory of Devils Tower visit there.

I kept whistling music of Close Encounters of the Third Kind while driving.

  • The Devils Tower was created when a meteor from Mars crashed into the other side of earth (china) and the force made The Devils Tower on the other side of earth (Wyoming).

  • musique parfaite .... si cela est possible de le dire ainsi

  • I want to go there sooo BADDD. Im from Boston and love the East Coast.. But I have to admit.. The landscape of the west is MUCH prettier than the east. It is BREATHTAKING!!!!

  • Just finished watching Close Encounters in Blu-Ray so this was very cool; thanks 4 posting!

  • I heard Speilberg had this tower built as a prop for the movie. Then with the movies success, he built a mansion of top with a swimming pool..............and a satellite dish to pick up extra terrestial TV signals like HBO and ESPN............

  • a very great experience going there, AMAZING!

  • nice but i did not see any ufo.; did i miss something ? :-)

  • Now we know why the native Americans considered it a sacred place.

  • I Love Close Encounters, is my fave movie ever & this place is so magical & enigmatic, sometimes I think this could be builded by some lost civilization, who knows!

  • lol i see this rock everyday i live in hulett

  • Was there earlier this year on a motorcycle trip. Had breakfast at a diner in Hulett -- it was GREAT!! (We're from Australia.) Devils Tower is just awesome -- it "broods" over the entire landscape; it's always there, even when you can't see it, you know it's there ... watching ...

  • where the devil sleeps

  • Best 4 minutes 10 seconds ever, cheers for posting this.

  • devil's tower is amazing, I went across country to burningman in 2000, on the way back went through a lot of wyoming, teton/jackson hole, hell's half acre....driving up to the tower was just like this...if i could have rented a wood panel-sided stationwagon i would have loved to drive it off the road like the movie..lol

  • I lived in Gillette Wyoming in 1975 when they were filming CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. Devils Tower is a unique area. It takes about an hour to walk around it but it's well worth the walk. I believe there is an energy field that surrounds it. This is a spiritual place. It is really in the middle of nowhere, in the best sense of the phrase. It is truly beautiful.

  • magical. i toured the states for 10 weeks in 2006. we stopped at devils tower and camped for one night. at the campsite they showed steven speilberg's "close encounters of the third kind" at night. how dreamy it was to watch the movie on an outside big tv while looking up right and seeing devils tower in the dark with stars above us. amazing

  • Wyoming is so beautiful (but scary at night) and seeing Devil's Tower is my favorite memory.

If you have a telescope or binoculars, you can see a decrepit old ladder if you look hard enough. It's pretty creepy.

  • loved it! my dream is to be able to climb to the summit within the next 10 years!

  • very nice video. It's always difficult to give the right scale of things on video, so I love the point where you zoom in and you see two tiny mountain climbers.

    this is huge!

  • wyomings landscape is fucking amazing

    SPECTACULAR

  • I'd love to visit some day.I love CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and this is a magical video.

  • Pretty cool! I thought they were scenes from the movie, but they weren't.Like stepping back in time 30 yrs ago.

  • OMG that is so cool. I love it.

Close Encounters is my fave film of all time.

Much Kudos to you for doing that!

  • The absence of road signs show the folks in Wyoming have the right idea. Too bad Republicans keep getting their vote. (Have you seen The Grand Canyon - a Federal Park -lately with the giant plastic extension they built overlooking it?)

  • beautifull Wyoming

  • A nice tribute to Devils Tower. Good work.

  • A dream come true for me, I´ve always wanted to visit Devil´s tower but I live in Argentina. I hope someday I would be able to go there. I love EEUU. Thanks for posting this!. Williams is God!

  • very well done. Thanks for posting.

  • who has seen the wind ???
