carolyn is one of the bravest people I have ever seen. I was crying when she talked about her life there and my heart was pounding so hard it scared me when she told the story of actually getting out of it. I could not be more proud of what she did for herself and her children. I am so happy she did what she did and knows you don't have to be apart of that to be loved and a good person to God.
As someone raised in a controlling sect (but not the FLDS) I know how hard it can be to leave beause everything in your world is intertwined, there's no seperation of reality, relgion, money, family, etc. Leaving for me involved letting who I was die & being brave enuff to reinvent myself, my family is permanantly lost as a result. carolyn is one of the bravest people I have ever seen. I was crying when she talked about her life there and my heart was pounding so hard it scared me when she told the story of actually getting out of it. I could not be more proud of what she did for herself and her children. I am so happy she did what she did and knows you don't have to be apart of that to be loved and a good person to God.

As someone raised in a controlling sect (but not the FLDS) I know how hard it can be to leave beause everything in your world is intertwined, there's no seperation of reality, relgion, money, family, etc. Leaving for me involved letting who I was die & being brave enuff to reinvent myself, my family is permanantly lost as a result. Its hard but the world I was in wasn't healty or loving. Bravo to the brave & those who wake up & see they arn't living in a "normal" world & leave it!

This fascinates me. It's sad to me that these women believe this lifestyle is the best relationship with God possible. Thank Him for people like Carolyn Jessop, who did such a courageous thing. If only there were more people like her to share stories such as this. They claim all the chlidren and wives have all their rights, and are free to make their own choices. If so, why are there harrowing tales of women who've 'escaped'???? Such an interesting subject.

You are one amazing, courageous and strong person, and I know your work has and will continue to help others who are oppressed break free. I just finished reading your book today and all I can say is wow, what a story! First of all, you all who are from centennial park should know better. She couldn't live as freely as you did where you were and How could you say she dug her own ditch. Did you read her book? I just finished her book today and have complete respect for her. She truly loved her children. The FLDS family she lived with including the father did not. Whatever life you are raised in is all you know. You can't condemn those who comment from this cult (easy to see from their grammer from no schooling) This is all they know. If only they could ask, Is this what a loving God would really want?

I've just finished her book and I think she is an amazing independent woman. Yes I agree that having more then one mother may be lovely but people have their own minds and that way of living isn't for everybody.
