With MUSIC like this, who needed "anti-depressants"? Seriously, we must take this back and show people today what real FUN was about. Loved this on the rides at the amusement park!! :)
I still have this song in my cassette compilation entitled jazzcotic, 1983.. Jazzcotic is a blend of jazz and disco, like Fusion jazz... In present time may be referred to as Acid jazz... Love this tunes... :)
On Skyfm a UK record producer just said that todays music is SHIT.....the best music was in the 70's and 80's.....he also said that they had pressure to not change directions into a more quality and happier music....that sucks.
There was a show the aired in Montreal in the 70's. It highlighted one specific club downtown per week. This was the theme song to the show and I have loved it ever since. Does anyone remember that show? Nothing like clubs in the 70's man!! Nothing!!!
I remember when this song was out and every time they'd play it on WBLS it was always a genuine feeling of euphoria....that's what the music was back then...made you feel so good

GOOD OL' DANCE MUSIC FROM BACK IN THE DAY! HEARD IN THE CLUBS FIRST!! IE. ROXY,'54,JUSTINES,WHEN YOU WENT OUT TO DANCE WITH ALL THE HOT YOUNG GIRLIES IN NYC. SO THEY COULD GET HOT AND SWEATY. US DIRTY OLD BASTARDS LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. ANYTHING TO FEEL YOU GIRLS UP.
I remember this!!! I like this - it sorta sounds like the dance group " High Fashion's Feelin Lucky Lately" - I had to listen closely at first. Wow - this is some good music. Thanks for posting.
@ilcatracho I have airchecks I recorded 30 years ago of this song on KTU, WBLS, and the new FM99, which a few months later changed it's name to 98.7 KISS FM. Looking back now, I wish I had recorded more late 70's, early 80's NYC radio.
This is the greatest Disco funk hit ever it's so catchy and danceable and makes everybody happy and in a joyful mood...I was Dj-ing from 1981 to 1996 but this tune still brings a lot of people to the floor!! So many glad memories of this!! LOVE BBQ Band wherever u are today!!
Sorry to say this isn't and never will be disco. This is classic old school house music. This jam was being played in house parties when I was young. It might be catergorized as disco but its not. Way to good a good a Beat and rhythim.
@OSG805 House music wasn't even being called house music until years later, this is 80s Club Disco, falls into line with guys like Change, Junior, D-Train, Rick Astley, and Shalamar. Lots of synthesizers and that awesome Italo feel.
@BalooRJ Don't know where ur from but this was house music not disco. Shalamar, Change that was classic house music i heard at house parties. As far as Rick Astley goes that was late 80's not late 70's. That tells me how well you know your music.

@walkertroy11 It's made by the same people behind the band Change; they were Italian who worked with New York session musicians. Mauro Malavasi, Davide Romani on bass were the producers
This is feel good music right here. This song was played at ev'ry Summer Block Party in my neighborhood. It was all about having a good time and enjoying yourself. Damn, I miss those days.
This reminds me of my youngest son when he was 3 years old. He loved this song. I can still hear his little voice, "It's only up the street..." RIP David - miss you - love you.
When this shit came out boy O boy, times were good, music was tight and those times will live with me forever, not a lot of the stuff thats manufactured now. I mean Curtis Hairston, Loose Ends, Cashmere, Central line, I-Level, Cameo, Dynasty, GQ, Bobby Nun, Ritchie Family and of course Marvin Gaye, Melba Moore Oliver Cheatham for "Saturday night" or "Bless the Ladies". Those were special times, If you don't believe have a listen to these names, they were BAAAAD

@GrandMasterGuess ...but this one was out the same year as a lot of Rick James and Evelyn King, (1981). I was also young but we didn't need a club to dance to this... just the boom box and the back patio or a weekend block party.
@Pisztu haha your cool! me too didnt dance to this! pity i do not found ppl whanna make a party like this, the only place to dance,is a over 50+ party and common, who whanna dance with seniors :D
Here this (and more like it) at 'Reach Up!'@ The Gramaphone club, 60 - 62 Commercial Street, Spitafields, London- Disco, Boogie & Early Rap - every last Friday of the month with DJ Andy Smith & guests - Free entry too!
The first time I heard this song at Radio AFN BERLIN in the show "AFN DISCO on 88 FM Berlin" presenting by the famous Steve Kastelac as DJ. SO GREAT!!!! By the way, he was also DJ at the former Discothek "Riverboat", in Berlin....beginning of the 80's. Steve Kastelac is legendary. Aha....I wish the time could stand still....Great post, THX :-))
damn I'm 17 years old and a house music dj and i wish kids my age liked great tunes like this, although disco house is getting popular I'm starting to realize that disco never died, and It's always here to stay, tunes like this will never die, and just recently I found a group called the dropout orchestra who sampled this song and titled theres "capuchin" and i knew it sounded familiar thanks to my dad for playing all the good disco jams and thanks for the upload always a good feeling with disco
When I was your age I tried out as a d.j. The owner of the club said it like it was. Music is the drug to make the people dance. If you could keep them dancing you've made people happy, they will come back to you and they will follow you. He was right ...but I did not get the job I was only 17. The greatest time of my life thanks to dance music.
p.s. 'til today I am 49 and still drug free and dancing
@spr11ng Sorry to hear you couldn't make it. I succeeded at it. 'been a DJ for 3-4 years back in 83-87. It was exactly as he put it. The nights I was hot, people would pay me drinks and get their songs played even sweat was beading down their forehead, they would go back and dance some more. LOL
But I grew older and needed to start a carreer out of the Club scene. Am now 44.
Some other long jams: dayton - the sound of music d-train - you're the one for me stone - time howard johnson - so fine yarbrough & peoples - dont stop the music lakeside - outrageous patrice rushen - forget me nots cameo - shake your pants Earth, wind & fire - outrageous parliament - flashlight Enjoy
Ah, back in the day when I used to play records. *sigh* :-)

Have fun

@spr11ng Sorry to hear you couldn't make it. I succeeded at it. 'been a DJ for 3-4 years back in 83-87. It was exactly as he put it. The nights I was hot, people would pay me drinks and get their songs played even sweat was beading down their forehead, they would go back and dance some more. LOL
But I grew older and needed to start a carreer out of the Club scene. Am now 44.

I never realized until now how much the vocals sound like a Rick James song....
But dont get me wrong... this jam is probably my favorite from the 80s!
