It might make jungleman12 think twice about making marginal valuebets on the river in the future, so the result on this one specific hand does not tell the complete story. Jungleman started his carrier with only 50 $ he got for free from Pokerfrik website, that prooves he really is a top player.
Patrik had also a great WSOP, even though he didn't play himself that many tournaments. But his start is interesting, he started with only 50 $ online, and hegot it free from PokerFrik website :)
The problem with this is obvious since it is your opponent that controls the action, and it usually includes some kind of risky bluff at some point during the hand. Anyway if you're looking to start poker without risk you can take free 50 $ from Pokerfrik website ;)
A very fortunate pot for Cole South here, and one where it seems he was a bit overly optimistic about his chances on the turn. I've heard that Cole starte playing poker with free 50 $ starting capital

I don’t know how jungleman12 would have reacted to that, but it might have been difficult for him to continue with the hand if he thought he was drawing to only a flush draw. Lool it's funny that jungleman started poker with free 50 dollars from Pokerfrik site.

If you've ever dreamt of making big bucks playing online poker now is the time to make it happen...
Ivey has probably made more money this year than what was won by Cada (whom I was rooting for after Ivey got eliminated). I think with Ivey winning the WSOP is more of the prestige of winning the "tournament and the bracelet" more than the money.
no matter how well you prepare for poker and no matter how talented you are.. even phil ivey can't ensure to dodge the 3 outer to make his hand stand up
frusturating for many people but at least we got to see a few pro's at the final table this time
in taking some consolation phil ivey has finally secured his final table spot after so many years
No it's not a joke. Because Moon has 30% of the chip stack he obviously doesn't have to gamble so much. Moon has been catching cards, but at least he's humble enough to acknowledge that (unlike Gold and Moneymaker). I know that Ivey and Shulman are the best players, but they are going to have to catch some cards of their own to win major chips off the big stack.
He is a luckbox, but played those cards well. Just review some of his earlier hands and you will see that he has some skill as well. I see Ivey going head's up with Moon.
Why did he say god willing. What kind of a petty god would even fix the cards for someone? Hopefully it was just an expression and Phil didnt mean it like Jerry Yang who actually thought god planned to kill his brother so Jerry could win.
ivey is a smart player more then anybody else left in the event as long as he keeps the chip count above average he could push anybody out of the event...anybody else would win by luck...we all know ivey is the man
its not that ...he got pissed what he saw the other person called with and just mucked it like saying wtf... grrrr.... and didnt even care what he had.... he did a phil hellmouth but with out being a BRAT about it .. lol...
I hope he noticed the massive tell he fed when he looked down at kings after a long ass day of playing. Anyone see that on espn? it was obv this years main event tourney.
all he needs to do is be able to get back to the average count (one doubleup) and he'll be the easy favorite. he's either going to be the first out or he's gonna win it all. he only needs to get lucky one time. my money's on him.
We all love Ivey and know he's the best player but let's cut the exaggeration. Nobody with 10 bbs can be favorite to win the tournament by skills. If you're down to 10bbs, you need extreme luck on your side to quadruple up. It doesn't matter who you are. You can be Stu Ungar and still lose easily with 10bbs. Only one to actually pulled this off was Jack Strauss who termed "chip and a chair" and he even said he had luck on his side. Remember, short-stacking of 20bb or less = variance-dependent
I'm a huge Phil Ivey fan and I hope that he wins. He's the best player in the world and no one deserves this more than him. You're crazy if you don't take Ivey vs the field.
Im a huge Phil Ivey fan too,and i agree he is the best, but would you actually take a bet straight up Ivey vs the field? He has less than half of chip average against 8 other really good players. He might almost be god, but he isn't god. Id say he has about 1/5 chance of winning. Just a guess.
No you're right with you're 1/5 chance of winning. The main reason I think he's going to do so well is because although there are good players, I think their games will be a little affected because Phil is at the table. They're either going to be too aggresive or too passive because of his presence.
You are right. I went to sportsbook betting site and it says Ivey's odds on winning is 4:1, which is very high for someone who only has 5% of total chips in the table. Two players who have slightly less and slightly more chips than Ivey have 12:1 odds of winning. Darvin Moon has 30% of entire chips at the table and his odds are only 17:10.
He's only going in the final 9 with 9,700,000 which is pretty small compared to most of the other stacks. I really hope he wins though, it's going to be so sad to watch another no-name get their 15 minutes of fame and then vanish from the poker world because they suck.
i disagree. jamie gold isn't that bad, he used a lot of his opponent's psyche to his advantage. i haven't really watched yang but i'm sure he played somewhat well when he got to the final table.
c'mon, one time, phil! win this bracelet. does anyone know if they prerecord the final table and just air it on november 10 or do they not play till novemeber 10? i wish it were live.
