Greetings - question from a beginner: Do you use the linseed oil/turpentine base coat in addition to the gesso, or in liu of it?

the gesso is apart put the gesso on the canvas letit dry and the linseed oil and turpentine is before start paint used like a medium check " medium oil paint" on the web
