I made this exact same setup including the Minolta 2800 flash unit. The first unit burned out after less than 100 firings. So I acquired a second Minolta 2800 and it too burned out after less than 100 firings. I would not recommend using the Minolta 2800 as it seems to burn out rather fast. I am going to learn how to make a Bob Beck Pulser without using a flash unit after having two units fail so fast.
