  • This is 'me' driving home in the car ...a lot!.....yes my dreams are great too!

  • thats shite

  • Beautiful. Thanks for giving this therapeutical voice for relax and make our imagination to fly.

    God Bless you.

  • hey! I make a sound like this when I eat something bad and then I have to go to the bathroom...

  • ok thanks

  • The majority of that reverb is not coming from the performer. They need big resonating chambers for the effect.

  • Was this made with effects at the time of recording or added after?

I record mine dry and add reverb later.

    Nice stuff though.

  • this shit is embraced by hi-brows but look up some good beat boxers and they're doing very similar things but making it funky instead of "ethereal." same goes for modern dance and breakdancing.

  • Very nice video.

Thank you for revealing to me what my bald neighbour is doing in his house !

  • @lee4samurai Actually that's me that lives next door to you and I'm not throat singing. Though what I'm does involve something with the word "throat". Enough said. P.S. TRIM YOUR DAMN BUSHES! I can't see into your bathroom window with them in the way.

  • Overtone and throat singing is cool, but, and I mean this with ALL due respect... aren't you one of the signs of the Apocalypse? If you are, I welcome you as our new post-Rapture satanic overlord . Again, I mean that with all due respect. If you are not, then I respectfully request a tone-down of the trippy visuals. Just saying cause last night we had some stanky White Widow and, well, I'm a touch paranoid today. Just saying, is all.

  • exactly the same here.....only with poorer quality weed unfortunately ......

  • Great comments. Sometimes comments are much better than videos. :D

  • i've seen you in my dreams.... my therapist is helping with that

  • it is mushrooms :)

  • you sound like my girlfriend. My DEAD girlfriend :P

  • Very interesting stuff.

I hope you do not live close to me.

  • Nice to know strange people have an outlet ;-)

  • well done bro, how long have you been practicing?

  • TOO MUCH FUCKING REVERB!!!

  • good job... i can do the same :)

    bye pal!

  • pretty psychedelic.I love it

  • I really like this, but can't figure out this thumbs up and down thing so this is definately a five thumbs up. How do you spell definately anyway?

  • definitely

  • Comment removed

  • Like the video effects

  • kool. are you just singing random notes or following a song? lolo

  • Pretty freaky, but I dig it. Very interesting visuals.

  • This is so damn trippy

  • Very excellent!

  • Wow. Scary at first, but after reading a bit about overtone/throat singing, seems like a good way of contacting our otherworldlies. Very interesting. I like the left/right visual balance, too.

  • it puts the lotion on its skin......

  • joe dirt

  • haha, nice

  • i think my cat just rose from the dead, poopers,is that you?

  • That is the shit.

  • legend

  • I wonder what his neighbours think

  • hahhahahahahahahahhaahahahhaa!!!!!!

  • nice transition of base notes on the sygyt

  • That's, abit spooky.

  • Awesome, the video makes sense when you think about it. When you sing like that, you start to feel like you're vibrating like the light.

  • wrong. there is no flanger. just heavy reverb. that effect is done through resonating overtones through the lips and tongue.

  • check virtuosity megalomania

  • Damn! excellent video and excellent overtone tech... I've been trying to do some overtone singing, but I can't get it!!

    Great video ;)

  • wow it sounds like hes making 2 notes at the same time and whistling strange is it just me or should he be doing that??

  • He's actualy making overtone singing, wich is a tec. that allows U to kind of "whistle" while U sing

  • Damn I wish I could do that. The life at parties eh?

  • can I hire you for my kids birthday party*

  • having no hair on the head doesn`t mean he`s a nazi ... ;)

  • ohh my god...whatch this stoned, the best exeprience ever! :D

  • Awesome! Amazing! I wish I knew how to do it :-(

  • Very well done! And also very creative!

I do not understand ExtraSmokers comment because Baba James not only copies already existing techniques but he is doing his own thing here, putting some didgeridoo qualities to it. It is different of course, but very original!

  • is there a point in this video?

throat singing is not just making noise like "WAWAWA", but there's a messege, that fills the steppe...

    but you're doing it good

  • If you knew anything about throat singing you'd notice the sounds...probably you only know about the whistles...look at around 1:20 thats when he starts doing that...He's not the greatest I've seen but yeah..if you see at 2:25 he's the first I've seen doing that, throat singing is about doing multiple sounds from your throat. not just about whistling with it

  • That is some amazing stuff!!! I don't understand how you do it...but that is some of the most interesting vocal stuff I've heard.

  • It seems pretty easy. I am just starting to figger this out (in my truck on the road :) ) and so far it comes out so-so when I stick my tongue behind my front teeth and relax the back of it so it forms a 'pocket' in the back. Make it smaller for the higher notes. Don't strain like you're trying to push them out. Just makes you tired. You don't have to 'oooo' real loud for you to hear the overtones. Good luck!!

  • i appologise. I was trying to be funny but I see that it was offensive to you. what you had to say was interesting ... So tell me is he chanting words or just the notes .. If words I would be interested to know what they are.

  • could you speak up i couldn't hear a word

  • You are very ignorant. This is throat singing... It's also known as the One Voice Chord that utilizes 6 pitches... 3 notes per chord. It's a very hard technique; the analogy of trying to understand what he's chanting would be Peter Frampton and his Talk Box.

  • I think he's joking dude

  • good singing! nothing wrong with a little dramatic body language, especially with the rhythmic style. to anyone saying otherwise: it's called artistic presence.

i don't mind the effects either.

the title is promising a lot, but then again from what i gather, the singer himself didn't upload this (he's username funketabla1) so... what's the deal you people?

  • QUE ESTA POSEIDO O QUE PEDOS**

  • Maldito ignorante!

  • Dude,

I'm familiar with Tuvian throatsinging. Is that your voice straight up or are you running it through some kind of effects?

  • Don't let the negativity get you down.. Some people just need to get out of their suburban mainstreamness and be opened and turned on to something new.. Good work.

  • lol. true. a lot of these commentors sound like they just got out of a cave and don't know shit.

  • prick

  • You are an ignorant scumbag.

  • "Throat Singing Virtuosity ", a touch of modesty please!

Sound like too much and put less interress about what you are doing.

Sorry you are gone so far...

  • noice

next american idol should be pumped with heavy doses of

    viewer serum

  • Hmmm, interesting. Keep developing yer own thang. And have fun doing it!

  • Haha, I'm an opera singer, and I thought OUR technique was hard...good work, dude.

  • that was done amazingly well. awesome control of the voice. you got your kygyra(sp?) to go really low. I have a naturally deep voice and can hit a low C in a normal singing voice, but i cant even get close with my kygyra. How did you get it so low? Do you ahve an mp3 of this song that i can download?

  • Personally, this annoys me...seems overexaggerated.

  • 3. I like it when groups like Chirgilchin do both traditional Tuvan songs straight up, and then do throat singing in harmony. That is truly bad-ass. My goal is to be like them. Peace, respect, love, and best musical wishes to you all.

  • 2. I don't want to be falsely solemn. I prefer to be serious and authentic to myself and sometimes what that requires is being funny and a little strange. I'm not interested in pretending to be some sort of guru. For me that's cheesy. But for someone else it might be right on. Who am I to say? I really believe in different strokes for different folks.

  • 1. You guys are kidding when you say this is insulting to other throat singers right? I sincerely doubt Kaigool Khovalig or Chirgilchin are threatened by me doing my own thing with throat singing. I think people should experiment and develop new forms of sound. I think it is healthy for the human race as a whole. I love rhythm so I tend towards punchy rhythmic styles. I play South Asian tabla and North African darbouka so the influence of those beats work their way into my singing.

  • how long are you doing this ?

how and when do you find this art in your mind?

do you think you are special?

    see you man

gos is watching you.. because you are, and me, and more

  • Cool. I am glad so many of you have enjoyed this video, it was done in a spirit of fun. My friend shot it as he was visiting me in Seattle and then decided to trip out the video and audio. I like what he did, it's like he made the video sing visual harmonics! For something more straight forward try this rhythmic bit of throat singing I did at a show in Seattle: watch?v=lMYyhkE6lHs

    cheers!

  • Good however would be more authentic if the sound wasn't electronically altered.

  • i reckon this is quite insulting towards other troath singers in the world. Why would you need to swing your head like that? Its not for the good of the sound, thats for sure. Its really good, alright, but please dont make such a big act!

  • Common american thing. Look at how they mess up martial arts. ^^

  • that is SO true! ;-)

  • Why's that, DW? I'm a rather serious throatsinger, and I'm not insulted.

  • I am litterally scared...cool though.

  • wow I hear at least three pitches at the same time

  • filipino

  • wow thats some control!

  • completely awesome

  • Sounds like my Phonetics teacher!

  • AWSOME!

  • verga! lo maximoooooooooooooooo!
