Hi PacoAyte. The film is hard to watch but she's no two dimensional character, only good and no evil. Remember the scene when, late at night, she went to pick a hammer to bash her little sister during her sleep. She is as hateful as the people surrounding her. That's why I like Todd Solondz movies. In the other hand, in themovie "Carrie" by Brian De Palma, Sissy Spacek is always lovely and a victim till the end and when she takes her revenge somehow viewers take her side. Here nobody wins.

Bully kids turn into bully adults. I hated High School and all the anxiety i was put through because i was awkward, shy and considered ugly by mainstream standards. It didn't end at High school though. Some people are born just to make others life Hell!. I sincerely hope all those who picked on me developed disgusting diseases and unwanted facial hair. A lot of people look at movies and other types of fiction as an escape from the real world, so it's no wonder they want to see things go better there than they do in life a lot of the time. They want to see an ideal, the way things should be rather than the way things often are.

Who had the guts to make a movie that showed us---not TOLD us---how grim, ugly and unrelenting junior high school is?" Because I had been there. I used to get picked on a lot at Dawn Weiner's age.
