Dark Souls - Blight Town/First Bonfire (Easy Souls)

This strategy is okay, but making the jump to the Iato corpse can be tough. I usually just kill these guys by hand and take their souls of the proud knight or lost undead.

@kydrice Instead of going up the first ladder (like in the vid) continue forward to the second wooden plank area after the 2 flame dogs there you will find 2 ladders to take you down, one will let you continue the level, the other to a dead end with this shield. Hope that helps.

This is a cool method. I came on here looking for this video because I noticed a similar method. You know that first guy you attacked and knocked off the platform? If you stay standing around the same area a little longer, the flame dogs on the bridge will run off to their death. I can get a good number of souls by just standing there for a bit. I'll try a combination of what I do and what you do and see what happens.

Yeah, grinding sucks, but I like the game more when it's easier.

@hendenson Yeah, you're right! If you stay for a few seconds the Flame Dogs will jump off. Nice find. That will add 700 more souls.

I actually think you have a lot of grinding places before that. But the best for me, was in the Drakroot garden, inside the door that opens with the crest. Each enemy guves you 1000/2000 or 3000 souls, and you can trick them off the cliff.

@raijinEBR Yeah I have the Master Key but I did not need it to enter Blightown, I just went to Drakes Valley and entered that giant cave with the 3 big giants. Now I'm where you're at in this video, but I can't open the door. From where did you come when you first got in Blightown?

The reason why I hate this place is because it isn't challenging or hard but there's some really cheap moments that keep happening... like falling through a hole in the floor the size of a brick (Yeah that can fit a human through I'm Kate Moss) or jumping across a gap and then it does that thing where you land on it but then you just go sliding down for no reason.... hate blightown

@GFEKteam i took a different route, there's a cave right at the end of the valley of drakes past that bone dragon, it took me about 1 hour or so to ring the second bell (maybe it's a shortcut) and i didn't use the key gaping dragon gave me XD (i just found that out today btw, i didnt know about it when i wrote the comment, thnx for telling me anyway i appreciate it :D (hard to get info on freshly released games)

If you just want to activate the Bonfire. Then you can run straight through everything. After you enter Blighttown from the Depths, go down 2 sets of ladders where u will find 3 big guys with clubs, and just run through them and make the same jump in this vid.

But my statement wasn't completely unfounded. If studies show that the majority of gamers on Xbox 360 are young gamers, wouldn't that also inherently mean that most 360 gamers have bad grammar? I don't know what universe you live in, but where i'm from most young children aren't educated enough to know proper grammar, or they're too ignorant to care. Poor programming? Are you even playing the same game i am? I'm nearing the end of the game and i haven't come across one bug or glitch. I know there are bugs, but i haven't experienced any. The bugs i have read about are either insignificant or they occur rarely. Not only that but From Software is relatively good about patching the game shortly after release. On the other hand, devs like Bethesda get ridiculous amounts of acclaim, yet their games are still broke, years later.
