The whole thing about Phoenix is that his playstyle is different from any other fighting game character's, possibly ever. You can't go all-out at the beginning and try to herp derp combos because Phoenix sucks in Investigation mode. Just like in his games, you have to weather the onslaught, find evidence, wait for the right moment, and BAM! Turn the whole case around. Once Turnabout starts, good friggin luck.

I'm not bashing Wright, I think he's fantastic and definitely my favorite character in the game. That said, it's worth noting he was helped by two incredibly good assists and that they both put in a shitload of work in this match.

@0siLverstaR level 3s don't scale. that always does 600k damage. Every single time. In x-factor 3 it does 1.2 mill i.e. everyone in the cast is dead on hit.

The cons to him are low health and damn near shitty mobility. That last one is what kills him. In this game people live or die by mobility and phoenix has some amazingly poor mobility so you've really got to work to make sure your opponent stays off you.

Hidden missiles is a great way to do that. One of the best assists in the game.

@vietleis well in MVC3, the level 3's damages are(maybe) half of the hp bar as i've seen on other matches, ex. : Tron's shakedown mixer, it does half of the hp bar of ryu and still standing still ; not in danger. but in this UMVC, phoenix w's lv 3 = hp's fucked up.. AND IS DONE ON SENTINEL O_O im just amazed..

Eh, you're right if you're referring to Investigation Mode. But remember that Turnabout Mode not only gives you the big fingers, but also makes all the evidence projectiles insanely effective. Plus all of Wright's assists except Get Em Missile (correct me if I'm wrong) do massive damage and are near-invincible when in Turnabout. So let's wait to see people work out his tech before making any conclusions.

Ghost rider's level 3 is also like this meaning that both ghost rider's and vergil's level 3s actually deal more damage than just their flat damage output because of their comboability.
