  • Babylon 5 was sooo ahead of it's time...

  • Quantum Leap was fine the way it is, few i can see being remakes as long work on storyline and plots. The others should not bother be honest dumb ideas from the beginning.

  • cool stuff, I dont go much farther back than babylon 5 so this was very eye opening. Lot of cool lookin stuff I've never heard about :D

  • I would love to see many of these remade but I think the unfortunate reality atleast for now is most don't watch Tv the way we did back then and it sucks and I include myself. I've lost a lot of intrest in todays tv too many stupid unentertaining moronic shows are the norm.

  • @CIVIC170 Not to mention a huge amount of "Other" means for enterainment, i.e. the internet. I was nice to not have the internet back then lol.

  • Hey! lets just remake everything ever done and never think of any new shows again:.)

or we could enjoy the originals on dvd until TV improves...

  • UFO loved that show.

  • Yes to SAAB, Firefly, but mostly one you left off, FARSCAPE, FARSCAPE, FARSCAPE. Although with Farcsape I don't necessarily want a reboot, I want the original characters stories continued. And D"Argo didn't die on that planet.

  • No! You do not remake Babylon 5! Just finish off Crusade!!!

But all the others, I Could see working as remakes

  • Galaxy Rangers, done today? The animation quality would go to complete shit. I.e. Iron Man Armor Adventures, the new Voltron and GI Joe series. Unless they gave a quality studio the project (which they wouldn't), i.e. Whoever does Naruto (I HATE Naruto but the animation is fantastic), Gurren Laggan and FLCL, Basilisk, Avatar the Last Airbender, something along those lines and it'd be fantastic.

  • Airwolf, Space Above and Beyond, Invasion America Yes

Lexx, Manimal, Space rangers, Thunderbirds, Max Headroom, Automan No becuase they were horrible.

Quantum Leap No because it's FINE the way it is.

The rest maybe and depends on they portray the shows.

  • @lovejen01 Manimal was actually a good concept, just horribly executed. Of course as a kid I liked the series. LOL Loved Thunderbirds and Lex (it was supposed to be campy and jacked up) Space Rangers is actually pretty good when you go back and watch. What hurt the show is they did the series in a time were people were moving to more on location filmmaking and were moving to cgi etc.

  • so with was better (blake or avon) (liberator or scorpio)???

  • @gibadoo Avon, of course, although I prefer Liberator as a ship. Scorpio was just a piece of junk that they never got working properly

  • UFO is going to become a movie-Google 'UFO feature film.'

  • Remake B5? Why on Earth would you do that? Would you go and repaint the sistene chapel? No, course you would'nt. I dont remember a lot of those, but some of them looked awful (manimal, the superman knock-off, c'mon!).

But, UFO would be a good candidate. The dark plot and the whole alien abduction and secret organisation fighting back has a lot going for it. But it would have to be done right and not turn into a scif-fi soap opera like new Battlestar Galactica.

  • I would like to see Farscape, The 4400, SeaQuest and RoboCop The Series again.

I adore Babylon 5 but the storyline in ended

  • I wish I had known about the article in Wired. I would have added one more name to the list if I could: Gargoyles. Disney's Gargoyles.

  • funny fact: space 1999 was supposed to be the season 2 of UFO

  • Babylon 5 would actually be near impossible to remake due to the fact the story has already been told, and doesn't need re-imagining. How about just creating a new story within the B5 universe? Although it would need someone with JMS' drive to tell a complete story over 'x' seasons, rather then relying on a committee of rotating writers who plan out what happens a week in advance.

  • @ScreamingTc That would be great if they did a good job of it.

  • @ScreamingTc That would be great if they did a good job of it. Damn I love that track starting at 7:48 too.

  • DON'T remake Babylon 5. It will be ruined. Don't remake Firefly either, that will also be ruined.

  • @SamHagagaga babylon 5 best sci fi show ever

  • @lopido i don't care if i piss you of for others. You got to be Kidding me talk about a Star Trek rip off.

  • @lovejen01 i hear star trek ds9 ripped off the idea og babylon 5 ....

  • @zxcthethird that false dS9 came out first, check imdb.com

  • @lovejen01 being released first means nothing

  • @zxcthethird your ? was that DS9 copied B5, when DS9 came out first plus Roddenberry wrote DS9 when TNG first started.

  • @lovejen01 Yes, but you have to take into account that JMS wrote his series bible and pitched the series Paramount. They said they weren't doing any more Trek and then lo and behold wam they come out with DS9 which had elements of the original series bible as he had made changes by then. Who knows if they copied or not.

  • @TheBwmm but when did pitch to Paramount was after DS9 came out or they already had DS9 planned it during that pitched the idea? Sorry B5 fans but they copied Star Trek overall from the original to DS9. Again sorry to B5 fans it was not that good of a show, that is my opinion.

  • @lovejen01 Actually he pitched it way before DS9 ever came out.

  • @TheBwmm okay but the other pint i was making he copied of Star Trek in general from the original series to TNG.

  • @lovejen01 So he was inspired by it. Who wasn't as with many series and movies inspired by Metropolis. Plus remember that Star Trek is Wagon Train in space.

  • @TheBwmm Roll in Roll in keep those doggies movie head out move out Rawhide!!!!!

just a joke since mentioning Wagon Train, i love the old west shows too.

  • @lovejen01 Plus B5 is also inspired by B7

  • @lovejen01 Sorry Trek fans, B5 was FAR superior to DS9. The story and characters were far better, the show was more intriguing and it was done with a fraction of the money. DS9 was easily the best of the later incarnations of the franchise, but B5 had a grittiness all Treks lack.

  • @RCTPatriot75 well the way i saw it, the acting was bad, characters were not even interesting. What grittiness you are talking about? The show used the same cliches other show have used and still using. As i was saying the B5 copied the entire Star Trek Theme going back to the original Star Trek.

  • @SamHagagaga Shows that are brought back for a second season after being cancelled are never as good as the first for some reason. Probably the fact that the writers have moved on to other series as well as the actors etc. and other crew.

  • @SamHagagaga

The best B5 line I ever heard was,

"When you're falling down a cliff you might as well try to fly."

  • @NWViewer1 Mine is " The avalanche has started, too late for the pebbles to vote" Kosh

  • Love to see a live action remake of Uylsses 31. Had some epic adventures.

  • Wow - that brought back a few memories. Some I did not recognise, perhaps they were only shown in the US, but I agree, many should be rebooted.

  • You don't need to remake a series just becuase it used to be on TV.

Some are fine the way they are (B5).

Some only work because of our fond memories for them.

Some actually may profit from a remake.

Or simply if allowed to finish their story arc (Firefly)

Some only worked they way they did because of when they were made

    And some just plain sucked.

  • Are you kidding???? over Half these shows show NEVER need to be REMADE. Your scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Except B5 which is GOOD as it is. Hollywood NEEDS to come up with ORIGINAL ideas rather REHASHING old "mostly" failed TV shows of the past. At least in their DAY all these show were ORIGINAL in concept which IS what made us like them in the first place. To rehash them is just obscene. They need to make NEW shows with new CONCEPTS.

  • What about star trek

    cant belive you fogot it

  • need to add farscape to the list

  • a new series of mission impossible would be what the doc ordered. the movies were so far of the mark, good in thier own right but not like the series at all. where teamwork, tension, a complex plot and inguinity completed the mission.

  • OMG! AIRWOLF!!

I remember squinting my eyes in my Kindergarten school picture so I would look like the pilot! HAHAHA!

  • Great retrospective. Thanks

However Roswell tv series debuted in 1999, not in 1992

  • Why they call Bell 222 of this chopper.

I like this series when they air on RPN 9

in the Philippines. My brother watch this

    back in the 80's

  • I remember watching a show when I was little in the early to mid 90's and I can't remember the name of it. One show was about a family that every time they lowered something into their water well treasure would come back up in the bucket or whatever was lowered into it would turn into treasure. Another was about a man trying to catch a fish and the fish cast out a apple on the bank and the fish drug him into the water. Any idea what show this was?

  • remake NOTHING!!! the present Hollywood is so SHITE

  • Wow, I just got super nostalgic. Really nice job, thanks.

    PS. Cool trivia too.

  • the music is awesome :)

  • I need the name of this song pronto!!

  • Hey, glad you like it ;) The artist is Patrick Walker, the tracks are.... Track 1: isodyne cryostasis

Track 2: isodyne holorythym. There's more info and links in the video description :)

  • I don't know if this is a good idea. I'm still in therapy trying to come to terms with The Prisoner remake.

  • Hehe I'm kinda worried about the remake of Edge of Darkness, gonna check it out next weekend. let's face it, remakes are only good if they are done well, otherwise it's a tar on the memory!

  • asdasdasd Bring back Firefly!!

  • After V for Vengeance, Childs of Men, and Battlestar Galactica, the world is ready for a remake of Max Headroom. Terrific job!

  • I know this isn't exactly new, but I LOVE finding new stuff to watch and some of these old tv series are news to me :)
