black feminism is a joke. few women are oppressed for being a woman especially a black woman. she is usually oppressed for being a black. if a black man is oppressed that mean since we are the same people black woman are being oppressed as well. i dont see why black women are fighting with white woman for equality when after all that the white woman is a nation with the white man. some how it has only divided us and kept them in power.

Black women make up close to 50% of those on welfare and foodstamps. 1 in 4 blacks live in poverty. It's about making smart decisions, not oppression. How is divorce oppression? Not allowed to divorce is oppression. The laws are set up to award custody to the parent who has had the most involvement so far raising the child, which is almost always the mother.
