More and more I see cops that go strictly by the book like these bozos. The reason you become a police officer is to use not only the knowledge you gain from law, but to back it up with your own moral sense and common sense. While in retrospect, these cops were doing the right thing (the Jefferson memorial is a 'memorial' after all and is supposed to be a place of reflection on american history not a dance studio) but they were going about the wrong way of doing it by using such excessive force.
Here's a thought america! Teach your police officers the difference between right and wrong. Don't just teach them what the rules for right and wrong are and how to go about enforcing them, you must teach them to use their common sense too so they know when to use their words instead of their cuffs.

People have a legal right to do what they want as long as it does infringe on anyone else's rights. Who knows what happened before all of the arrests but "flash mobs" may impact fear upon some people especially those who aren't up to date with all the stupid shit people do. The police were in clear violation of the Constitution, and should have been fired. Unfortunately our police system doesn't work that way, and they probably didn't even get a slap on the wrist.

see the problem is when you resist. If you just give up and get arrested for breaking the law they would not have to use force. They are resisting, and a cop can use tazers if they want you to. It becomes just a simple arrest to resisting arrest. That's why they are being forceful. They dont know you, you could have a weapon, so when you resist they have to use force to make sure they stay safe.
