I have been a fan of Teena since I was 10 years old and she has NEVER ceased to amaze me. RIP, Lady T. Your lyrics were inspired, but there was never anything so poetic and musically pure as YOU.

@ginap58 Actually in 2004 in the Sister to Sister Magazine which I still have Ms. Lady T said her mother was Portuguese and Italian and her father was Irish.....she also said when she was in high school and her 1st date came to pick her up ...her dad was excited and ran and opened the door.....her date was a black man her father grabbed his chest..had a heart attack and died right on the spot of a massive heart attack.....her father was somewhat of a bigot but her mother was not

My favorite Teena Marie song. I just can not believe that this strong beautiful voice will not be heard anymore with any new music. I will never get over this. I just can't believe that she is gone. Thank You lord for giving us Teena and her great music. It will forever live on in our hearts. But I don't thank you for taking her. I just don't know why you had to take her. I am so angry. I am hurting and in pain. This was a beautiful song. Teena too was beautiful. Voice and all.
