Very good when new and using the right can. Does not work with all cans and works particularly poorly with basic or value range cans. Limited life and even with light use it did not make a full year of use! Over-priced and poor value for money.
I don't bother using the pliars with mine. Once you have totally opened the tin take the Kuhn Rikon off then place your whole hand over the top with your fingers resting down the side. Pull the hand up and the lid will come with it.
omg, this can opener has been in my kids play stuff b/c it confused me to no end. it has been almost thrown through the window...but now, WOW. amazing. thank you soooo much for teaching me how to use this thing.
I was trying to figure this out is how I came upon this video, thought the can opener might have been broken (bought it randomly a few months ago and just opened it). My jaw dropped to the floor when you got to ~ 1:08 and I couldn't wait to try it. Worked like a charm!
@edvhou812 Right on, that is so hilarious what you wrote, I got a new one and didn't know how to use it either, until I watched this video, thank god for you tube huh....
We tried to use this opener during our July 4th cookout and after about any hour and at least a half dozen college degree in the kitchen one person figured out how to use this opener. Decided to try again today and this video made it a snap!
A GREAT LITTLE CAN OPENER----The rest of my Kitchen Gadjets are mostly ROSLE (made in Germany). Don't try it:or you will buy everything they Make, , , , ,l

You SHOULD not put the lid back on. Some cans say so, but store leftovers in tupperware.

Does this style can opener last longer than the traditional style? Mine go dull so quickly, it's rediculous.

WOW that is mindblowing. Such a brilliant gadget.
- no sharp edges
- no getting food on stuff
- AND you get a lid you can reuse??

I really needed this. Was trying to open a can of cranberry juice. Was just about ready to attack the can with a screw driver and hammer.
