this a good video- but like others I too am having problem with LINKING the top layer with the bottom Layer mask layer. It just doest not do what the ppl are saying!! Please help!
Well I cant seem to make this work. I follow the instructions and get lost along the way. When I paint in black i get a black splodge and when I paint in white I get a white splodge. I must be a clutz as Ive tried and tried but no luck
Thats because you're moving the layer. Without holding down the left mouse button, hold alt & drag the cursor between the layers. When the icon changes to 2 rings then left click. Or just simply hit ctrl G for group.
in this video he shows a way that you can put the cursor in between the photo and the adjustment layer and by holding the alt key and sliding you can move it. I tried that and he kept duplicating itself. it did not look anything like the video
Thanks mate. Everything worked out as it is shown in the video. This was a great Adobe Photoshop tutorial video about the power of masks. Nice and easy.
maybe you're brushing out of the mask, when you do that, you apply color right over the layer instead of masking it... try clicking the mask next to your layer before brushing it
Thanks so much for this video tutorial...I've always wanted to do this and now I can. You have taught me alot for me to learn how to use this program and it is very much appreciate. Cheers!!
Oh, thank you SO much for this. I've been agonizing over the fact that PSE6 doesn't actually let you just create layer masks, and this is completely wonderful. I appreciate it a million percent, and will use this all of the time. Amazing video and many, many, many thank yous!
