alfaromeoash, the old gold split axle gullwings? I had almost the same rig except with red 60's. wheels were so soft that they would bone out on you if you rode on the street too much. loved that ride.

My dad worked at Southsea skatepark in the 70s. I skated a modern deck when i was younger, but I was crap and never got on with it too well. Moved to uni this year and bought a cruiser just to get about on. This is what I was meant to do.

What an amazing film, must have needed loads of old cine archive to knock that together, really great to see free-flowing styles of the day and some vintage equipment, the david bowie music just sums it up too, most of these kids riding here will be in their 50s now and I bet they rarely get that feeling of freedom they once got from skating like they did back then nowadays. The end of the film is quite poignant too, the kid flying off into nowhere - the same way the whole skateboard scene went!

Great, thanks a lot it really took me back, I loved the little clip of Gary in the half pipe at Guildford as that was where I skated as a child and I've been looking for footage from their on the net. I remember lots of people with cameras the day Tony Alva came and would love to see that again as it was my 13th birthday. Thanks again, no skating today in Tel Aviv where I live as its raining ! cheers
