But, the other problem with shiny surfaces is they're easy to scratch (especially when they're made of plastic) and when they do get scratched they'll look really bad so you have to be very careful when moving a case like this around
I have the Sonata III and I've had it for about 2 years, very good. Only few issues is the bottom sticky foot things dont stick to the case anymore. :( Hopefully they fixed them with this. Very nice case though, and quiet
is it just me or is the lighting not to great in these vids? I couldn't see whatever was on the right side panel, and at certain angles a lot of the case was just in darkness when it shouldn't have been? I can't wait for the video review, this looks like a gorgeous case
The original Sonata had a rear tube style vent that could be affixed with an 80mm fan for CPU/video card cooling. It worked ok with my X1600s in Crossfire, but was a hinderance with my 2900XT. I'm guessing this one would be quiet to be in the Sonata series. Strange it doesn't come with the PSU. That was one of the highlights in the series. Good price, quiet and a good PSU. Not much difference from a gaming case now unless it's super quiet.
I don't like the look of this case that much, it to me looks like some really bog standard case that you see when someone has an old computer they still use.
I think you could get a much better case for the price that would look nicer and have better features although that just my opinion.
I've used the Sonata III for recording studio PC's and they have double think steel, the top, right side and bottom was all one piece of steel (you couldn't open the right side), hard drives are rubber isolated, there is a removable filter in the front. They came with Antec 500 PSU witch had long cables, tons of connectors (dual 6-pin PCI-e) and lots of power (dual 22A 12V rails IIRC) and it was super quiet. Its not a gaming case but its for professional or office use.
They aren't in the same class. This is not a gaming case but is great for quiet office machines. It has a removable filter in the front as well. I mean you can pull it out from the bottom of the case no need to open or remove anything like you do on the Nine Hundred Two (not sure about the 1200)
You said 3 1/2 inch - 5 1/4 inch drive bay adapter. But it's the other way around =]

wtf is that kind of fan in that box??
sieske008 2 years ago
blower style fan. Same type of fan like in a (modern) video card. You can place it on any expansion slot and it'll help cooling in that area.

Bought one two weeks ago. The best looking case in my opinion. You can easily wipe off finger prints with an anti-fingerprint cloth.

Then it's even more weird, why wouldn't they attach a Antec-icon on the case, but then put a batch in your casebox??

watch the review
BKiggin 2 years ago
so you have a choice between an Antec badge or processor badge or w/e to put on the front of your case
