  • this song brings up a lot of memories to me,especially my highschool days,it makes my eyes goes misty..i dedicate this song to my highschool buddy, danilo zabala of dau academy, mabalacat, pampanga, philippines

  • willy nelson wrote "crazy", nuff said

  • pure talent

  • Ian Tyson from Alberta, Canada wrote this. Of course, Neil is Canadian (though he chooses to live in California - who can blame him!), and knows this song from that.

  • willie is high... again

  • Nice rendition of Ian Tyson's classic, voted best Canadian song back some years ago.

  • Neil gives willy a look like wtf are u doing

  • Willie nelson is an interesting guitar player - but he is different than anyone else. man he woulud be hard to play with - he plays in his own floating time. Neils great and Ian Tyson writes a mean tune,

  • What a great voice for folk and rock. And the best song writer of all time though this was written by an Canadian (well Neil is Ex-Can)

  • It's always great to hear you Neil.Music definitely is the soul.

  • AWESOME....................

  • what the hell is willie nelson playin'?

  • @psike5000 cool comment ... it's an ancient martin acoustic guitar

  • One of the songs that Neil loved as a kid. Poignant performance!

  • I love this song.... so fits my life.

  • I love this song..

  • still i wish you change your mind if i ask you one more time ...

  • Ian and Sylvia song. way back when

  • Four Strong Winds is just a great song. Love the Bobby Bare version, but I've never heard anyone do it poorly.

  • *****

    i love this song :)

  • Nicolette Larson sang the harmony on Neil Young's 1978 recording of

Four Strong Winds...she was a sweet voice.

  • "Four strong winds that blow lonely,

    Seven seas that run high,

All these things that don't change, Come what may."

But our good times are all gone,

now they know our brains are billions of radios, transceivers

a grey goo of nanomachines they can control

send interrogation waves and receive answers while we are alive...

The world will be over when this that is happening to some people, happens to everybody and this is "their" plans

    Best wishes to Neil Young

  • best four strong winds version on youtube

  • Awesome!!!

  • It just doesnt get much better than these two. I'm going to see Willie next month. He's another living legend.

  • Not his best but still enjoyable

  • Absolutely Gorgeous !!!...Thank You...x

  • Even though Neil never wrote 4 Winds he has made it his song I heard his version before I heard Ian and Sylvia Tysons. A lovely song and what can you say about Willie just magical.

  • @ajayha1 This song is written by Ian Tyson back in 1960.

Bobby Bare had a great hit with the song in 1964.

Neil Young recorded the song for his 1978 album "comes a Time"

Many various artis has played as well as recorded this song, that just proved the song to be a high quality song.

  • Seeing Neil Young today with Willie Nelson made my day! I still have the LP. Seeing it today makes me really happy. Its great!

  • I love Willie! Always does things his way at his speed. The two work well together. Neil made this cover his own but the original by Ian Tyson is also something special.

  • Just perfect. Love that thundering twelve string, and Willie kicking back playing a little backup. What a great combo.

  • King Neil, the living legend...awesome performance!!!! He´s just great!

  • That is awesome !!!

  • Yes I am going to see this more than once.

  • This is Just sick!

  • Neil and Willie,Come back to Ireland.

  • DAMN!!!!!!!

  • well, Ian Tyson wrote it, Bobby Bare did it too, but Neil owns it, with by far th eworst voice of th e3( or enlarge the number, Heck, even I have a "better" voice) but you totally feel and believe Neil's emotion behind this. It ain't theoretical or artistic. he means it. great voice from the Canadian prairie ( via L.A.) Yay Neil.

  • neil at his best!

  • F--k! he was so high during the last waltz gig, Apparently he's into model trains, in 1976 seemed more like hot-air ballooning

  • i heard they had to airbrush a big chunk of coke out of his nostril in the movie.

i also once saw a news report about how he had a special model train set that his son with cerebral palsy could run.

  • I think that was Neil Diamond... they rotoscoped it out IIRC.

  • Ever heard the Chinese version of this song, it's all over in 28 seconds:)

I first heard this on an original studio 7" single, alot of variations since, Young's studio version is easily the devinitive one. Seen Neil in Dublin a few years, Class.

  • Your fucked Enlimdr, neil is way better

  • This c'd be a Canadian Anthem ..great that Neil does it, but doesn't hold a candle to Ian & sylvia

  • Ian & Sylvia were the best!!!

  • i first herd this man sing this when i was just 14, and the emotion of the song just threw me back. it stands the test of time. his talent was raw and pure, and true. so much emotion

  • a class song performed by class,

  • Neil looks good with that little beard ....

  • long live canada!

  • I like this song... I like the swedish version also...

  • what swedish version? by who??

  • It's called Mot Okänt Land and is by Hep Stars...

  • Thanx a million :-)

  • Your welcome!!!

  • This will be played at my funeral

  • I really get goose bumps of this marvelous version of Ian Tysons classic

    country song.

    Hebbe

  • Brilliant song , by 2 brilliant performers

  • wonderful song!

  • Oh for the old days in Nairn. It used to be a great place with great bands who sang this shit.

  • I love this song

  • I was there, and don't remember a damn thing about the whole day....LOL

  • Then it must have been a good day...

  • It was a LONG day, I can say that.

Rained for most of the fucking concert though.

  • how did you feel the rain listenin to this magic?

  • With my respect to Willie Nelson, what the hell is he playing?

  • yeah, he's a little out of tune. That's okay, tho.

I saw neko case live and she had the guy from The Band playing accordion really, really badly. And he wouldn't leave after the song was done.

yeah, it got kind of weird and awkward.

  • Neil called him out at the last second and he didn't even know what song was going to be played and I'm sure Willy just smoked a fat one,

  • Amazing song.. was searching for it for some time on a cd. thanks uploader

  • Me too deadmans curve

  • its an old Ian and Sylvia song. I love Neils voice. He is one of those rare singers who can play someone elses' song and make it thier own.

  • of course i love ian tyson's original version too. Afterall - he's the originator. The truth is that I haven't heard a version of this song that I don't like. I would love to hear Van Morrison do this song.

  • Well you obviously have not listened to Bob Dylan sing it yet, Its on You Tube, check it out..Bob even gets the "Winter" bit mixed up with springtime!!!! Neil's still my favourite performer for this one and Ian Tyson's original is O.K. too, but you just cant beat that quitessential Neil Young Twang in all his version of this great song.

  • johnny cash version - my personal fav.

  • Brilliant version

  • Ian Tyson was as magic as Fred Neil in Everybody´s Talking... Both was flying in a magic carpet...Through the oceans of the sky...

  • man does that ever take me bavk

  • Man, does this man take you back in time or what? Love him!

  • oh i really like this song...thanks uploader.

  • marvellous song..marvellous Neil..time flies too fast...is there someone who could stop it?...coz it seems me yesterday...

  • this song's tugged at me since childhood.

  • superb just superb nothing more to add

  • Scheußlich dieser Gesangsversuch, hört Euch mal Bobby Bare oder Johnny Cash an. Noch besser können es The brothers four.

  • You have got to see the Brothers Four version of this. Better, if thats possible.

  • Fantastic song, neil and his wife at live8 was a cracking version.. i got the live8 dvd just for this song... a true legend

  • this Is the other neil Song that reminds me of the heart i broke back in New Brunswick and subsequently ended up breaking my own by coming back to Alberta

  • neil young is born to sing this song!

  • you're absolutely right! I've heard the other versions (including the original) and I liked much the Johnny Cash one but Neil Young singing it makes me shiver everytime

  • Great cover version by Neil.

  • amazing pauls mom

  • I almost passed on this Ian Tyson classic - glad I thought of who was doing the cover

  • good good nice video!

  • great song great singer love it.

  • lovely song, beautiful performance in the film Hearts of Gold.

  • Bridge School Show is a benefit concert organized by Neil Young for the children those want the special needs. This benefit concert held every year in LA. The Farm Aid Concert and the Bridge Concert are the great contribution of Neil Young since 1985.

  • Was this at a Bridge School show?

  • Actually, this was Farm Aid 1996. I remember seeing the original broadcast. Willie and Neil did 3 songs together - this was the closer.

  • My God, Neil looks so good in this video

  • If you like this watch Jay Shelton do Sweet For Me on here.

  • joiulle voghtvyounjube

  • Best Combo Ever!!!!!! Neil looks hot with the beard and moustache. Love these guys!

  • Yeh duznt he?

  • a very nice song, Neil's telling about it at the last dvd, when he heard first the song in a jukebox sung by Tyson, when he was very young, he threw coins in it over and over again to listen to it.

He likes the song as much as I do, what a performance, from his toes. Great Neil

Wllie Nelson has nothing to do with this, it's Neil'performance

  • ol' willie and neil really did a good job on this one ... makes me want to ride out there again,,,joe nyc usa

  • Hey yall, Willie was really tired when he and Neil played "four strong winds". He had also been up for a long time putting the show together, and making the rounds. Gotta Love Willie!

  • Too bad he was tired. Would have been nice to hear him singing harmony with Neil. The two unique voices might have been really cool together on this.

  • I love the beginning when Neil quickly looks over at Willie as if to say "um what song are you playing?".

  • You can't blame Willie when his mic is all wrong.Good job again, Neil.

  • he put's his full self into his song's.way to go!neil!

  • Willie missed rehearsals again!!! Just kidding, its still great!

  • willie is lost pretty much the whole song

  • Thanks so much!! It's just great!!!

  • Thanks a million for bringing this ASH moment back to you tube ! :)
