  • how do u use a canon lens on a nikon body?!

  • yeah nikon!! way better lenses

  • is the 14-24 sharper at 14mm then the canon 14mm 2.8 ii prime?

  • 60 years ago this would have been Ansel Adams.

  • He could of just bought a D700...........

  • @geforceoc ya but you cant use canon glass on a nikon

  • What's that one size fits all clip on polarizer he's using? I like the idea of that.

  • I read somewhere that polarizers on very wide angle lenses can cause distortions in the sky colour. Does anyone know if this is this true?

  • @mucalinda Polarisers increase colour saturation but only at certain angles. If using very wideangle lenses part of the sky will be affected more than the rest.

  • @WhatDigitalCamera Thanks for this reply. Presumably , he is still finding some advantage in using one on his extreme wide angle lens. Maybe if the sun is not too bright or something , the saturation difference is not so noticeable . Anyway thanks again, great site by the way.

  • @mucalinda I belive you have gotten the filter thing all backwards. The circular or square polarizers are not primarily used for shooting anything with lots of sky in it. They are used for taking unwanted reflection out of hard light reflecting of water, leaves glass etc.

Neutral density filter and especially graduated ND filters are used to capture a vivid sky and not blowing out the details while getting the exposure of a landscape right. Polarizers do not distort color.

  • @mYOzZyKaT Oh OK thanks. Yes I use graduated ND filters myself to capture clouds and sky . But I also notice that if I use the polariser, my skies are a much richer blue even without the ND filters. I was referring to an article I saw somewhere that said if polarisers were used on very wide angle lenses that they can actually CAUSE colour distortions in the sky part of landscape shots.

  • @mucalinda the circular polarizing filter do not in it self give much richer skies. It simply might be the effect that a circ. pol filter do shift your dynamic range a bit and soften the exposure simply by the effect that putting any kind of filter on blocks some of the light.

I believe they are confusing the effect of wide angle lenses and digital censors in general. Pixels are arranged in small cube like cell and some wide angle lenses distort light at the edges causing all sort of problems.

  • Someone needs a kit upgrade... Badly...

  • @shadowblack1987 No he doesnt you need a kit,

  • A nikon lens on a canon body???...sir you have committed the ultimate sin....

To hell you shall go wrap in a burlap sack.......

  • @molecular98 you freak'in awkward !!

  • Good video but the wind was so annoying!

  • How do you get a nikon lens on a canon?

  • @TommyPh500d with a lens lens adaptor

  • nikon 14-24 f/2.8 rules. .!

  • Waiting for u guys to review the Sony Alpha 580.. see u soon

  • what kind of bag and gitzo model and head did he say? I am looking for an inexpensive tripod, ball head, and bag-please give me suggestions...

  • why dont you just buy a D700?? ;)

  • @flyonwall360 its the Nikon 14-24mm ;)

  • what's the name of the polarizer he used...using single size ring polarizer can be a lil bit annoying sometime.

  • @leonhartxtreme

It is the Lee Circular Polarizing Filter. You need the Polarizer Adapter and Lee Filter System also.

  • get a wind block for your mic!

  • thats me buying the novoflex adapter right now!

  • It annoys me that this guy probably wouldn't be landscape photographer of the year if it wasn't for his expensive equipment. I'd love if the video showed a guy using a 450D and a standard lens. Then again maybe you need to spend big to get results

  • @swingking338 from experience a good photographer can use any equipment and get great results.....kit lenses are very good nowadays....I'm sure he would still get very good results with a 450D / kit lens ;) I use a D300 / 18-200mm VR combo... I have ny work compared to guys using D3s's and 24-70 2.8's on DPReview forum ;)

  • @swingking338 I wouldn't say that at all really, I'd check out his work its amazing before you say some comments like that..

  • I use 17-40 with 5D2, it's good combination.

  • What about that Zeiss lens I saw on the camera in the begining of the video?

  • @flyonwall360 Probably the 21mm Distagon.

  • not bad

  • what bag are you using??

  • @Richard8485 it looks like a lowepro slingshot

  • so if Canon rules, why the photographer uses Nikon and Contax lenses?

  • Canon will never be able to produce a lens equivalent to Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 or Nikon 200-400 f/4.

  • @1986Chaitanya Uhm.....maybe.....but nobody was asking you.

  • @1986Chaitanya They just trumped Nikons 200-400 f/4 with one that has a extender built in

  • @1986Chaitanya the canon 300/400mm 2.8 ii is sharper then both of them put together probley the sharpest lens you could buy but its 11,500 lol.
