i love how the kung fu guy is tiny compared to the boxer... yet they put them together in the same 'scientific' study... in order to run a scientific study you need to limit as many differences as possible, which they clearly didn't do lol but i'm not arguing that boxing probably has some of the most dangerous punchers in the world... it's all they train, but still... get people the same size with the same amount of experience.
God damn what is this crap... it's physics morons the stronger the muscles, joints and bones and a good technique makes a powerful blow... what the fuck.. I'm not even gonna bother with explaining...
the boxing guy only threw a straight punch not a power punch dumbass. if he would of went all out that would of been about 1400psi maybe higher. mike tyson hit 1800 psi with a glove on when he was just a kid so obviously they cant hit harder thant 1k psi.
That`s all bullshit.!! Muay thai, taek kwon do, karate punch wtf?! It`s well known that the bigger you are the harder you punch, and that boxing dude was almost twice as big as kung fu guy. I know that boxing punching techniques are best among all martial art styles, I just want to say that if the contestors were at the same weight the difference wouldn`t be that big.
Mike Tyson was the best strong puncher in the World: his punch was about 1750 lbs... Earnie Shavers's punch was 1680 lbs and George Foreman's punch was around 1600 lbs...The punches that I see in the video are effective but non fatal!
This is kind of silly, they look all intelligent and they've got loads of high tech specialised equipment for these never before done tests, and they completely overlook the simple fact that they only tested ONE person from each art AND they were all completely different sizes weights and builds.
I mean, that boxer was pumped in comparison to the others, the kung fu guy was by far the smallest (though im not convinced by his way of punching looking at that. Whatever works for you i suppose)
Yeah, they should have used fighters of equal size, weight, and strength. They also should have had each fighter use all the different punches. That would have been interesting data. Still, I'd bet on the boxing punch for a knockout.
This was such a joke... so many flaws. At least they should have used the same person using different styles of punching, then you could have measured the power coming from the technique, not the individual fighter. Some guys are just stronger than others... and of course boxing has the strongest punch... that's what they do.
Evryone from MMA to Bruce Lee Says and proves that boxing is extremly effective in fighting. Bruce Lee says its quick and more dirrect. MMA artist study boxing to incorperate in their fight style. Are you a fighter at all or what?
it official boxing is not the best punching since lol look at the vid again the dude jet forward like he was dashing and punched. The asian stood still and didn't even use his whole body to punch which is the core of the one inch.
well if u have to argue look at the facts bruce lee actually fought a champion boxer and won it was a ko. Plus his one inch punch did seem to look a little different from wushu guy alex. It was suppose to be straight punch not upper punch
Cannot people accept that the TKD guy was better? and every sport has different punches which are some stronger and some weaker. remember, every sport depends on the player, not the game ;p
I don't know about the other stuff but i do know for punching power you can't top a boxer thats all they do is work on punching every one else is just good all around I'm sure.
exactly, i was soo surpirsed, like its TKD, they are known for terrible punchs. my shotokan karate sensai himself would be able to generate a punch that powerful, and hes 130 pounds. i didnt like this test because they practitioners were different weight classes.
uhmmm..... taekwondo do have some quite powerfull punches. i train it, and some of them are extreme, while others are just bull sh*. TKD isn't know for terrible punches, but everyone thinks that because in olympic sparring, only kicks are allowed. so everyone thinks that we dont consentrate on punching. but thats wrong ;p

lol..true but the boxer didnt even make it seem like he wuz using full force...the others made yelling noises n pushed foward..the boxer stood in his spot n just threw it like nothin
True. That karate guy was shit, probably a sport karate guy. He just threw his shoulder. If you've ever been hit by a strong karate-ka using his entire body, you'll know it. Sensei hyro, a 7th dan here on the east coast, was tested and his punch was so strong that taking it to the shoulder was considered lethal.
not very scientific. they are not all the same weight and musculature, and they only give them one punch. better Idea is to let multiple masters from the different style to take multiple punches and see who has the highest average. but even then it could not account for the differences in techniques that are used by different practitioners.
You can produce a knockout useing comparitivly little power with a well aimed strike to either the tip of the jaw, the temple, or certen areas of the neck. Also these style Vs style tests are complete bullshit.Search for long enough & you will find that no style is genuinely supiriour to another. Its about how skilled the fighter is, not his style.
The TKD guy is wearing heavier gloves than the rest of the guys and he also shuffled forward with his punch. The others guys stood still. Which would leave boxing and karate with the most powerful punches.
fuck that the one that done the kung fu punch was a fuckin pussy they should have put up the top dog from a showlin temple that dummy would look like it was in a car crash lol fair play great punch to the boxer nice streight through the head shot
it's quite stupid trying to find most powerfull martial art when the fighters have differnt weights, hights and muscle power... and I must say that as a Karateka, I have no idea what was that lame punch the Karate dude used... in Karate, all punches are thrown from the hip. what he did looked a lot more like a Taekwondo punch...
punches aren`t always thrown from the hip that is just a stance and a rubbish one too u have no defence for your head and stomach. when you spar, hold your left and right hands level with ur chest, one behind the other
lol if you wanna see who has the most force in pounches its fedors sambo pounches

a kung fu master using dragon body properly has the potential to generate the most power of any1 to anywhere in his body

The karate and tkd did the same exact punch. No style was better but bren foster (tkd) was just a stronger guy than the one that did karate.

Most lethal punch id say is boxing & the most lethal lower body attack would be muay thai's flying knee to the opponent chest.

irbb07 3 years ago
Yeah it mesures the power, but it doesn't really say which one is the better punch.
1- Depends on the practionner for the strenght and speed.
2- If the punch is very powerful, but it's the slower, you'll be able to deflect it.
So they mesure which is the most powerful, not which one is the best punch in a fight.
