Why do some people assume that Van Damme can't fight in real life? He was training in martial arts since he was 10 years old. He is trained is kickboxing, shotokan karate, muay thai and tae kwon do. Can't fight? He competed in karate and kickboxing tournaments and won the championship. And he used to max like 400lbs in bench press when he was younger. He is obviously very athletic, very strong and could fight. He isn't a phony martial artists movie star.

@Bflo23 The whole MMA scene kind of took some of the glory away from what a real martial artist is. I mean no offense to anyone, but this is my take "I've been training since I was 9". MMA is an event, entertainment. The martial arts is the martial arts, you train for combat, respect, love, honor, not a purse, not for fame, but for yourself.
