Great example of "How To Write A Country Song". We keep repeating the chorus because that's what people walk down the street singing over and over. The common theme in christian music is far more predictable than country- most commercial country music is crap just like most christian music.

Brilliant! I found this thanks to none other than my mother, who occasionally sends me some sappy country song she likes and is always dismayed when I break it down into its component parts. It's my sincere wish for Andy, who is obviously both smart and gifted, to be able to put his faith under this kind of a magnifying glass and gain the clarity that comes from getting past superstition. And that's not meant to be some cheeky remark - being free is an incredible gift that every person deserves.

@HOHOEYHO Their is no PROBLEM with Christians. The only problem is with people who apparently compare it to masturbation!! It is a belief a very strong belief of many in this world. And most definitly should not be kept in privacy of your home the words of the Bible should be spoken to others. It is a Faith that I strongly have for God. And I have faith in those who are lost. He is not only making fun of country music writers, but of people who happen to enjoy country music songs. That is a fairly broad group of people. This song is awesome! He came and played at our church a few weeks back and it was great. As an aside, I think the lyrics during the bridge are "hold out your notes and prepared to modulate" not "hold up your nose." Just something to consider.

...song The first verse has to grab them by the heart so just talk about your daughter being born and the part before the chorus get real solemn and sincere use a couple minor chords to darken up the feel [Chorus] But in the chorus all you do is keep repeating the same tune and change the chorus underneath then to make it all complete You give a tribute to the honest working man then spell it out so he can understand oh workin' man

about now that daughters prolly 21 thats just in time to walk her down the isle so as the track to that Bob Carlisle song comes on start thinking back to when she was a child like the night she used to sit with you out on the porch till dawn you would play the guitar and she would sing along chorus Then comes the bridge with the strange twist of fate hold up your nose and prepare to modulate...modulate chorus Then he breaks into the Faith Hill song "It Matters to Me"
