While ABC1 didn't do anything special when the original series was shown in Australia, Ten has at least brought back (a version of) the TEN-10 Sydney logo for the US series. If only they went the whole hog and played Macarthur Park as well...
BBC now had a huge deal with YouTube, and according to BBC, they have no plans to send removal notices to users who post BBC shows. (except Top Gear, which has international licence with other broadcasters, and BBC does not want to piss off the international broadcasters who air top gear...)
anybody know who that scientist is who briefly appears for not even to milli-seconds? xD

I think the voiceover is Bill Nighy.

It does have that old-school BBC voice-over feel about it.

i wonder if they are going to do something like this when Life on mars comes to the US

I'd like to see some vintage ABC idents used on the US version of the series. That would be cool.

Right you are. Slight confusion on my part.

... and now I realise they do - if you call the 'retro breaks' part of the promotion.

What a voice...

the welsh one is better, I'm from liverpool but when I was in Wales their ident is actually the original whereas this is a CG version

aaaah, now this is where it gets confusing. What you saw was the original BBC1 england one with the "Cy,ru Wales" branding.
But the Wales one in use in 1973 was actually a huge "C" with a kaleidoscope-like effect around it.

The announcer sounds a little like Michael Caine.

Wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

There were a bunch of Life on Mars episodes on here. Have the damn Beeb had them taken off?
