  • Why did the BBC has closedowns

  • Because they couldn't afford to pay their technicians for 24-hour broadcasting, plus their technicians union put a restriction on how much each of their members could work.

  • and it wasn't just the BBC. All the ITV regional companies and channel 4 did them as well.

  • Note to travelplus1:

In the U.K. the *correct* title happens to be: "God Save The Queen".

Am I correct in assuming that when The U.S. broke off their ties from their Colony origins, they adapted "Let Freedom Ring" lyrics to "God Save The Queen"?

  • that can't be from june 1993. it must be between September 1995 and October 1997.

Why? because the announcer says "BBC2 carries on through the night the Learning Zone." Which launched in September 1995. So i'm afraid that guess was incorrect, kamilek.

  • Blooming audio failed on the BBC1 ident.

  • BBC1's virtual globe from 1991-7 never had any background music.

  • In fact, none of the BBC1 idents pre balloon era had any background sound.

  • The weather from David Lee once more, and Dan Austin hands over to BBC World throughout the night until quarter past 6.

  • erm, no. They would actually STOP BROADCASTING. They would not hand over to BBC World.
