Our German Sheppard figured out how to turn on the stove this week. She's just gotten big enough that we're now having to train her not to steal stuff off the kitchen counter. Apparently she tried to figure out how tasty meat came out of that box thing in the kitchen and turned it on instead. Guess this means more dog-proofing!
That dog will probably save your life someday with that trick. Shepard and border collies have my heart but I'm partial to every dog. Thank you for sharing!
My 2 dogs are so funny. They have a doggie door, and they both want to be the first one out, but they have learned from experience that 2 big dogs cannot go out at the same time. Which ever dog gets out first get 'barked at' by the other.
we installed a gate in the corner of the backyard so we can close our GSD when we are doing something.. (he always burns himself biting the fire when we make a BBQ .. etc.) And it took him not longer than 10 mins to figure how to open the gate, it had a same handle as the that door.. So we had to make another one on top so he cant open it himself :)
@ShonEpfc You can be sure he's thinking in his mind of how to do it. They are determined. The good thing is that they are easily trained to come when you call them.
i used to raise GSD and i had to change my front door knob because one of my males knew how to get out when he wasn't allowed out. i also had one that he chewed through the door in my bedroom when we were gone..
was she trained to do this ? very clever mine taught himself at around 1yr old to open a normal bedroom door (turn knob )when he was seperated from visitors...i cant figgure out how he learned this ...
she is beautiful! gsd's are soooooo0 cute! real intelligant and always eager to please! thats why i will always have a german sheppi in my life, :D..beautiful smart dog u have there :D
Haha, GSDs are often smarter than it is good for them and their owners! We also have to be on our toes with our GSD, because she always finds solutions that would never occur to us!
kkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!

"The other two raptors are contained?"
"Yes, unless they figure out how to open doors."

Remind's me of my old german sheperd, when i was a little kid. Family use to walk him daily. But was never enough for him lol.
So he would open the outside fence by himself, when noone was the wiser. And give himself walk's around the block and come back home.
Real funny thing was half the time... you didn't know cause he closed the fence. Good thing he was good dog... would've sucked if he bit someone.
Anyways beautifull shep ya got there :D
