Wow mann.....and here I was bitching about the price of the $1.99 small pack of cashews I just ate. I ate about 20 cashews in 3 gulps. Damn....so that like carrying a bag of 20 of those fruits! $1.99 is actually a bargain now that I think about it...all that hard work? Wow...thank you cashew ppl!
I would like to find out the whole HOME procedure from A to Z sense the nuts are picked up from the tree. Do I need to boil them before cracking? Guess factory procesing is totally different then what you can do hand cracking / deshelling cashew at home?!
If I try to cut the cashew just when is sundryed the nuts are not coming out (only by crumbling). I tried to roast them in the oven at home but I got a very poisoning oil which burned my finger. And by hand is extremely hard to cut them into half. Must be very experimented to do this.
Please help me with some advices! I bought a land in Senegal and I have several cashew tree in my garden. We eat the delocious fruits, but I don’t know how to use/process (HOME style) the nuts?
The last thing they need is factories moving in. Because they are pretty much the last line. As soon those new factories will need unprocessed cashew from somewhere else and there won't be anywhere else. Time to get our heads out of the 20th Century.
I had no idea what cashews looked like before they are exported! One of many things I've taken for granted, over the years. I would love to try that fruit and the wine that's made from it!
