When police tell you to leave, you leave. Protesting or not, her goal was to demonstrate defiance. Those cops don't care what her cause was, they were just doing their job as trained like it or not. Actually... from eye witness accounts of people that were there, and from what I was told, she did try to leave! Something the camera didn't show is that the other direction was also blocked off as well... so, there wasn't any leaving.

Honestly, I'm sort of surprised that the local Fox9 aired this (as so much other things didn't make it)... I'm happy they did... The reporter that got it on the air probably worked very hard to get it on the air, and she has been known for doing that kind of thing in the past. Props to her!

There were basically none. They had gotten ready for a large amount of people and it ended up being pretty much no one, so there was little to no need for cops.

The cops take their direction from the Police Chief, whom takes his direction from the Mayor and Govenor, who I'm sure probably got their direction from Bush/McCain.

This is my sister. She knows that they were just doing their job and doesn't blame them at all. My family is more angry that they used excessive force...they didn't have to spray that many times and she would rather have just been arrested she wasn't fighting.

I am so very sorry this happened to her...and hope that she is ok. What they did to her (and so many others) was completely unacceptable.
