  • Champion race ported GN1 aluminum heads, efficient torque converter, shifting at 6200+ and really good track conditions seemed to do the trick. We also race at sea level (Mission Raceway)

  • 20lbs of boost and a E.T. like that is very impressive. Whats the secret?

  • MUST OF BEEN LOOKING UNDER THE TREE FOR PRESENTS OTHER THEN LOOKING AT THE PRETTY LIGHTS !!

  • sweet gn! you are fortunate to have such badass buick!!!

  • That's what I'm talkin about...drive to the track, whop ass and drive back home in the same car.

  • sweet ass carr

  • Awesome! Way to keep a street car on the track and show people what a real street 10sec car looks like.

  • What was your 60 ft time on this pass? How many lbs of boost did you leave on?

  • 60' was a 1.61, left the line on 9-10lbs.

  • what monster was heating the tires that you cant see ?!?!

  • how much psi does it put out stock. also how much do they weight?

  • Nice Grand National Bro, my uncle has one that run's 9's and he has a roll cage in his car but I'm not really sure what engine you have but he replaced his 3.8 turbo with a 400 Big Block! I sure miss the Turbo Charged engine :(

  • @CameronSoFresh Cool story Hansel. You don't know what you are talking about though. A 400 is a small block, not a big block, and you have to have a roll cage at most tracks for the time this guy was running. Ours is 11.49 and quicker and you have to have one or they kick you off.

  • @sprayta Honestly, it's my uncle's car and he told me that it was a 400 Big Bock in the GN, I don't know if it was a Ford motor or Chevy but if it were a Chevy then it would be a smal block but Ford has a 400 big block motor I've heard, and to tell me I have to have a roll cage on the track is pretty simple because I said my Uncle has one so that made no since to mention, although I am young doesn't mean you have to treat as if I'm dumb, have a great day mate.

  • Sleeping at the tree.

  • LOL, it was test & tune. You can leave whenever you feel like it, time starts ticking when you break the beams.

  • Awesome run, thats what I want mine to run after a te60 fmic and 2800 stall with all supporting mods @ 25#. Timing can be modified from the comfort of ur drivers seat =], thanks to the turbotweak chip and scanmaster.

  • woo. that run was in mission man.

  • What a sweet Buick.

  • i got one for sale in chicago

  • where i live in chicago send me pics

  • Haha thats mission raceway! I wanna see this car at street legals this summer.

  • if i ever got a american car it would be a grand national great sleeper

  • sweet run with all the factory trimings

  • Awesome car.. Could you send me your build information at the time of this video. I want a reliable 10's car.

-I was wondering about what converter you was running, chip and injector size.

-Also, single or dual nozzle alky and what time did you tell it to kick in?

-Finally was this your street tune? I figured 20# is a little aggressive w/o the akly.

    Thanks,

    Gabe

  • Converter was a local 9x11 lockup-although I did not lock it in 3rd when racing. Alky kit is a dual nozzle from Alkycontrol and turns on at the factory 4# preset. This was the street strip tune, never messed with the boost once it was set, alky was always on regardless of boost, saves headgaskets! Injectors were 57# siemens, ls1 maf with Gen 2 translater/using wideband tracking.

  • Converter came from TCS?

  • i love the look, sound, smell(?), blakness, speed and pretty much everything about the grand national. my life would be complete if i owned one.

  • im going for 10's in mine, pump gas/alky/FAST/GN1 heads/t66dbb. my limitation will be my flat tap cam 218, and my single 340 pump.

    VERY COOL CAR MAN!!!

  • Your combo should run 10s all day, the fuel pump and cam are perfectly fine for mid-low 10s with the correct injectors. You may run out of alky with a single nozzle setup. My new combo is a stroker 250ci with a GTK-72BB turbo and a FAST XFI. Should run high 9s on pumpgas...still have A/C and no cage.

  • what kind of cam, ive been looking to buy one.

  • COOL CAR

  • It sounds like a diesel when idling and like a weed trimmer when it takes off.

  • Your gn looks alot lower than mine....Is it just the vid or is their a reason 4 this lol ?!?

  • What stall speed are you running, is it 3800? I'm trying to find out the best possible stall speed for street/strip on my GN. Thanks.

  • I am using a 3200-3400 stall, 3800 may be a bit much on a street car but necesarry if you are using 70mm or larger turbo.

  • I'm using the TA-49, thanks for your advice. I just ordered a bunch of scan equiptment, fuel pressure, and knock gauge. Then I'm going to order the converter.

  • im going to get a ta 49 with my 2500 stall should be perfect match. might i recomend getting a scanmaster

  • when you say pump gas are you running E85? I hear turbo cars love the cooler intake charge associated with E85

  • these are like this out of teh factory. Out of the factory with the turbo had about 270 hp

  • Hey man, what blow off valve do you have in your GN? The one in this video...

  • how did the other car get a 4 second jump on the GN??

  • Waiting for turbo to spool. Not an issue once the car is rolling cause the RPM's are up. Might be running heads that dont flo very well.

  • This was just a test and tune day, not really racing heads up. Only the second pass ever with the car and was just playing around to see what it would do driving it off the highway and onto the strip...it ran 10's with very little boost. This car has a 10.2-4 with a good hook and 25#.

  • My friend ran 10.4 at atco NJ last year. The GN was at cottons for 2 yrs. The buildup in GM HTP. I wanna get a T-TYPE. LOL

  • LOL...i thought the GN was camming.

  • whoops not sure why I posted that read someones comment before looking at the date lol!!

  • grand nationals are wicked fast cars nice vid

  • dude ya gotta got to the Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags or i mean apply to the PGD in would be nice to see a GN in the races

  • z06 10.85 on drag radials stock.......the best

  • Good job buddy.....!

  • Why does everyone get 4 speed cars for drag races?

  • Both the Mustang and the GN are automatics...

  • Okay

  • What kind of turbo/heads is it running? My bro had a custom head (scorpion?) set made and a duttweiler turbo on his (when he had it). Never saw the street, but it would have been awesome!

  • This car has Champion aluminums with Scorpion rockers and a Turbonetics 66mm.

  • A good friend of mine has a similar setup- champion heads, 66 turbo 10.4. I guess you were bracket racing? guess-

  • Damn, what size injectors???

  • 57# Siemens, the alky helps thing out a bit.

  • Thanks, I bet that thing has a big ass Spearco Intercooler.

    Nice car though.

  • Grats on the run im looking for a mid 10 this summer aswell : P
