  • ON AIRED @JOLF 2011/11/10

  • What a tall, talented Sexy Beast!! My God, that mane of hair goes on forever. He still has it, too. Amazing. ....His voice, music & style are unmistakable whenever you hear his music. He will always be a legend.

  • Love the song, but this was NOT the live audio. That was the fully produced track found on the album with some applause thrown in. But the syncing is dead on! Very enjoyable to watch! I love that they're playing cellos but we hear violins! Haha!

  • Stoned by the look of it lol.

  • かっこよすぎ

  • Some observations: 1..Tom" T-Bone" Wolk didn't play bass for Daryl during this solo tour?2.. Notice G. E. Smith was playing lead; he was an integral part of their(his) sound during 80's. 3..Nice violin accompaniment in this song!! 4..Is that Eddie Zyne on the electronic drums? Didn't think he used that kinda setup, although H&O did have many drummers(Pope, Marrotta, Zyne, etc.) during their awesome career. 5..This song was used during first set of Live from Daryls House,it caused me to seekthis

  • @scubarulz Not Eddie Zyne on drums- don't know who but not Eddie. He looks like the guy in old Voices live videos. Actually this was NEVER a solo tour. The tour never happened and I am surprised to see this. My guess that T-Bone might have had other obligations that he was not here since he co-produced.

  • THey just don't write 'em like that anymore. Very well deserved member(s) of the songwriters "hall" of fame!!! One of his better solo tunes.

  • I loved this song... (And it was a HUGE hit in the US and Canada, though it did well in Europe, too)

  • AWESOME!!!

  • This song is me and I have left everything and lived alone for 11 years. I used to play this album everyday when I went to work to help me get through the day. Thank you Daryl. Am going to now listen to Private Eyes. That Album still helps me. Thank you Daryl. Still so love it. He has such emotional intelligence.

  • Great song by Hall........but I hated those electronic drum machines from the 80s!

  • HES PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Too bad it's lip-sinc

  • wow!!! i remember this when they split, definetley brings back the old days i love it

  • great song

  • hall i love you

  • I want this to be available on iTunes already!

  • @CaptainBuckRogers Same, they have his other albums up

  • What a song! Daryl Hall is one of my all-time favourite singers, one of the best there will ever be. But here he does look like they dragged him out of bed during a shagging session, gave him a noseful of coke and put him up on stage. Great nevertheless.

  • Ha Ha coffinthief, I totally agree with you. What a great and gorgeous singer! -Yeah, they DID haul him out of bed whilst we were in the middle of a good shagging session - he then snorted the coke whilst I made him a packed lunch but I didn't have time to iron his green shirt , sorry guys!

  • @ladytawny It sucks that you'd talk about him in that manner- I know you're just trying to have fun, buut assinine statements like that are better saved for TMZ.I just don't care for all the drug references used in remarks for Daryl's songs...hell, even if they might be true, that's HIS business. He was and still is a great singer, and the pinnacle of blue-eyed soul!!!Has Philly roots too.

  • @scubarulz Sorry , don't know what TMZ is. I responded to a compliment of a great singer & a rather witty observation. I don't think talk of Daryl's drug use here is something to skirt round or condone but it's common knowledge. I WAS trying to have fun & get across my adoration of Mr. Hall regardless, using coffinthief's slang. It's not asinine it's humour. If it's not your taste then sorry but it's better than the other nasty comments bandied about on here that REALLY insult people's heroes!

  • amazing song. Enough said.

  • I really really love this song! Thanks so much for posting it.

  • LOVE this song!

  • its only hall album oates not included.

  • This solo album was actually a collaboration with Dave Stewart from Eurythmics and many other artists. Stewart is a co-producer and, it doesn't take much effort to hear Eurythmics-like use of orchestral instruments. Great sound and pause for Daryl and John.

  • Hall's first solo album Sacred Hearts was minus Oats as well.

  • ooh yeah sounds just like the song on the album. Besides i have never seen in any video G E is singing live. That it would be th first for me.

  • It's a great song, i knew ZARD's makenaide/負けないで at first, which is similar to this.

But Daryl's work is better, more complex...

  • Good to see G.E Smith on guitars

  • @HallandOates But where's T-Bone? Wasn't he involved in Daryl's solo act?

  • I remember this great song from the summer of 1986...brings back alot of good memories from high school. Hall and Oates have always been wonderful!!! They are totally 1980's...they still are great!!!!

  • I never knew that Hall had a solo career until one of my friends (a Hall & Oates addict like me) told me that he teamed up with Robert Fripp in the 70's, then put this record out in 1986. Gotta tell ya...this rocks a HELL of a lot harder than his duo stuff.

  • Looks like Holland got the best of him that day.

  • Ok, I am a massive fan of Hall & Oates...that being said, they perform so perfect live, that the fact they ever did lip-out-of-sync this badly is such a shame.

  • I actually love this song. It's from the album "Two Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine".

  • It's been too long. Make that three hearts.

  • @TheLogicJunkie That would be "THREE Hearts In The Happy Ending Machine" not two.

  • Ha ha! You're right! Good call. I guess I don't generally think of happy endings containing three hearts. Sounds a bit kinky.

  • 青春の思い出

  • Man, I wish I had his hair!

  • too bad it's not really live!!

  • Yeah, it would've been more convincing if they'd plugged-in their guitars.

  • Typical tv performance. They are not allowed to plug in even if they want to.

  • @frielster123 Yeah, that's messed up! Another example of guitars not plugged-in for a "live" performance is, of all groups, Blue Oyster Cult on the Merv Griffin show!! Some sleazy promoter named Kal Rudman talked them into playing on Merv' the Perv's show.' and tells him the bands thrilled to be there! That was MUCH more bizarre than this lip-synched deal overseas by Daryl. BOC songs "Don't fear the Reaper" and "Burning for you" are clearly lip-synched, and none of the instruments are plugged.

  • Awesome song!!

    hallandoatesforever,com

  • Marissa cuanto mas viejo me hago mas te extraño, recuerdo mucho ese otoño del '86 contigo.

  • 本当だ、イントロがZARDの「負けないで」だ・・・

  • where oh where can i buy this tune? not on i tunes please help

  • go on limewire

  • does anyone know how to get a copy of this video? daryl is the man! great song!

  • love this tune summer of 1986 great tune great memories thanks

  • Loved it.

  • Daryl is HOT!!! still makes my heart pound, they broke the mold when he was created

  • I you like Three Hearts In the Happy Ending Machine from Daryl try to find his Scared Songs album. That was his first solo record. Great album I had it on cassette as a teen and a few years ago found it on CD on Budda records. Worth the search to find it.

  • This song brings back memories of when I was 5..so long ago..great times though.

  • Tremendously underrated song. Should be in the top 500 all time, in my opinion.

Outstanding lip sync. Notice the guitars are unplugged.

  • I could tell it was the record but good eye about the guitars being unplugged.

  • This is Daryl's 2nd BEST song of his solo career. I'm glad he's still keeping this great song alive. Daryl is one of the great modern story tellers with the most incredible voice in the history of rock. Check out the song "Abandoned Lunchonette" from "Along The Red Ledge"! Daryl's all time greatest is the recent "What's In Your World" from "Can't Stop Dreaming". Show stopper extraordinaire!

  • @glendonj Actually, "abandoned luncheonette" was a Hall AND Oates album of the same title from earlier on in their awesome career, I think '73., which also had "She's Gone" on it, propelling them to stardom. "Along the Red Ledge" was a H&O album from '79, the one which followed live album recorded in Hershey, Pa. in '78 titled "Livetime", limited release and almost impossible to find outside of mini- Japanese import. "Along the Red Ledge" still had Caleb Quaye on lead guitar. Long live H AND O

  • i luv daryl, i`m 18 but i like Hall & oates

  • Daryl Hall: The man with 1,000 hairstyle in his best solo effort ever.

  • I donno what performance "rnnyd5" was watching, but that was a horrible lip sync! Daryl moves from the mic so much its beyond obvious hes faking it. Though I regress - for a real musician like Hall, doing lip sync must be the equivalent of having a root canal.

AWESOME song though - his best solo cut by far!

  • Thank you for this!I always want to see solo performances of his from this period.

  • Great lip sync performance! It's nice to see GE there! And the 2 violinists are a trip! And I found it funny to see Daryl do the solo! I wish he'd play more lead than just rhythm on record & live! I was always curious about that! Thanks, andreb2504!
