@nehpets75 - yes, that was the ONLY time she ever smiled. She was so happy to be playing in the water (even if it was to get a bath). Love this breed - have several - don't think I'll ever be without one.

Love these dogs. My dad would take his to the beach to go surfing. He would swim up to other surfers and hop onto their boards. My dad trusted him so much he would let him out for the whole night every night and he would just roam the neighborhood.

Let me remind you we live in southern california. He scared the s**t out of unsuspecting strollers.

Hey Chessie-Lovers. I love this video. It reminds me of my Ragen that I had to say goodbye to yesterday. She was only 4 1/2 and suffered from seizures. She was the Best dog I've ever known. They are by far the best breed. Her spirit was amazing and will never be forgotten. I love you Ragen XO

I found A Chessie he was in a Pet Store, He was getting big, so all the people didn't play with him, I would go every week to see if he was still there. He was, The owner wanted to get rid of him bad, so he cut the price to where I could buy him, I did. but he was lonely during the day and people companed about his barking, so I took out an Add for Doggie day care, Elizabeth called came over and never left, We know have a 6 yrs old daughter Katelyn, So I have A cheesie to thank for my Family

Thanks for the video, we just lost our family member "Rocco" he was pure Chessie "Attitude and all". After 14 1/2 glorious years we let him rest. He will be missed every day, and in time I will have another chessie, they are by no doubt the best dog on this planet.

This almost brought tears to my eyes! I had a Chessie (Bud) for 11 years. He passed away this year at the age of 13. He was the greatest friend in the world. What a spectacular breed of dog. So loyal, strong, protective....the best kind of dog there is!

i had a chesapeake bay retriever his name was mudflat mike he died when i was in 8th grade he was the greatest dog ever and he was 100% chesapeake not some half ass mutt. I stayed with him for three days out in our shed while he died of some kind of cancer. th esaddest thing i ever saw was the day he died the last thing he did was wade into the water that was it, all he wanted was to be in the water one more time and he died i think he was happy then laid down under his favorite tree and died

i have chessies there so adorealble one has a hole in his heart and has weird attacks but now his attacks are more like seshzeers and he has a pretty good chance of dying and then we have another chessie shes 11 months so adoreable she looks just like the puppy on there morgan. we had another one but she unfortanlly died she was thirteen in people years so she was overe 100 now shes 15 and in heven i always miss her well i liked the video and my heart is for your chessies heart i know how it is.

Drake - I'm very sorry to hear about your dog having heartworms. Depending on how advanced the heartworms are, there are treatments which might be able to help him. My thoughts are with you and your Chessie.

the first couple days after the shots the docter said he could die becuz the mdicin is poisinis and could kill him but he didnt die!

he lost alot of weight so we gave him canned dog food till he brought the weight back up then we started giving him dry dog food again

That's fabulous. I'm so happy that you were able to go through the treatment and he's ok now. Now, be sure to keep him on heartworm medicine each month and it'll prevent your Chessie from having to go through that headache again.... and it could even save his life in the future. How old is your dog?

Chocolate, yellow, and black labs are all labs. None of them are mixed with anything to get the different colors. It's a like deadgrass chessie and a brown one.
