  • I wish Eddie was alive today to see those two guys make so much impact on wrestling. Throw in Rick Steiner you got 3 of the most impressive stars of the 90s EXCELLENT share WarriorCentral

  • Entrance music was god awful in 1986. However, the Russian has a bad ass beard.

  • man, eddie gilbert had a monster squad back then

  • Sting and UW could have been another LOD

  • Heh heh. I guess Eddie Gilbert didn't keep that picture for too long, did he?

  • warrior was definately on the roids back then.

  • @bukkake2007 he admits to useing them they were legal then

  • @809Ollie

Yeah I know he admitted it, I was just pointing out that that must've been the time when he was on them. Didn't know it was legal though, I thought they outlawd them in the late 70s.

  • Good, competative, old school, jobber, slobber knocker.

  • could somebody please post the russian flag angle and the fantastics vs ivan & nikita koloff from the previous week?? PLEEEEEAAASSSEEE????????

  • Little known fact: In the 1980s there was a federal law that all wrestling promotions had to have an evil Russian character who came to the ring with a Soviet flag...

  • anybody know the theme song when jeff gaylord comes out

  • Oh wait, yeah Its Michael Hayes an JR....COOL, had no idea they did commentary together this early on...

  • Is that a young Jim Ross on commentary ? And also who is the other announcer ???

  • @NRAWKER The other announcer is Freebird Michael "P.S." Hayes. When the Freedbirds weren't in the ring, Hayes was Ross' regular broadcast partner in the UWF at that time.

  • i had no idea that eddie gilbert had anything to do with the blade runners!

  • Sting and Warrior working heel this is unique.

  • @kombenpranji "Castle Walls" by Styx.

  • @kombenpranji It is the middle section of a Styx song. Can't think of the name right now. Really good song.

  • commentator says 'big jeff gaylord'

  • road warriors? blade runners? where's the terminators? or the Aliens?

since wwe is PG now, how bout the Goonies?

  • @schlong19

The things you could get away with as a promotion that was not nationally televised in the 80's is a long list. As long as the look did not coincide with the name you could call yourself anything you pleased and use anybodies music.

The Freebirds are a great example. Before BadStreet they used Skynnard t-shirts and music. Nobody blinked an eye or got litigation happy

  • @schlong19 hahaha, that's hilarious!

  • man sting had a great vertical leap

  • @bigguyjames34 Yeah, he was a basketball player before getting ihnto bodybuilding and powerlifting.

  • fuck yeah Jeff Gaylord is the shit!

  • Had Warrior lasted with UWF into the Crockett purchase, I wonder if Crockett, and later WCW, would've given him the fame that Vince gave him.

  • Wow, this was after Eddie Gilbert, Korchenko, Ivan Koloff and Nikita Koloff laid out Cowboy Bill Watts and put the Soviet Flag on him. This was a great storyline.

  • Gaylord and Korchenko really got their money's worth in that match.

  • Maybe I'm crazy but.... Pause at eight seconds and take a good look at the woman sitting in the middle. Does anyone else see any thing odd here?

  • gross,hey...lmao

  • @rstryker27 Crazy stuff indeed... she's smoking for one, kids in diapers sitting in the front row.... don't see that kind of thing these days for sure.

  • Yep , that's crazy , but I was actually talking about how she doesn't appear to be wearing any pants. I'm sure that she really is but it's weird looking.

  • was the blade runner tune from any movie? or was it made in house?

  • It's part of the song " Castle Walls" by Styx from the late seventies I think.

  • Blade Runners theme has same chords as the Theme From Holloween, the movie.

  • eddie gilbert was decent with his mic game...I don't remember Korchenko, this must have been after I moved back up north, couldn't get UWF :(

  • damn Sting and the Ultimate Warrior!!!

  • Yes.. he used to go by the name Brett Wayne for while.. then in Georgia. Buzz turned good when Brett was getting the shit kicked outa him.

    The Bladerunner music rocked..............

  • The guy that played Korchenko was able to keep his identity well secreted. Probably because he was so forgettable after he left your sight that no one bothered to research.

  • Jeff Gaylord should have got a huge push in the UWF. He had the body and the talent but they made him a jobber???

  • Read on wikipedia that Jeff Gaylord has got a new career, bank robber.

  • Oh yeah the original can't think of his name is the strength coach at the University of Memphis. Sid Vicious was the most known. You still have a couple indies in the south that put the Hockey mask on a big man to use the gimmick

  • thats freakin cool! my dream match would be lord humungus Vs the missing link!

  • Mike Stark was the original's name.

  • Yeah, the one that was in Southeast Championship Wrestling [aka Continental Wrestling Federation] is a cop in Pensacola FL now, Jeff Van Kamp.

  • No, they never became the next Road Warriors, but by early 1990 they were each the World Champion of the 2 major promotions. That was just 4 years after this match. It is amazing to think about.

  • I didn't know Buzz had a midget for a brother...

  • I remember jeff gaylord! He sucked on uswa!

  • He was busted for armed robbery on banks (I believe it was in Colorado) about a year ago. He's going bye-bye for quite a while.

  • Those power slams are pre Ultimate Warrior this is bad ass you can see warrior come into character.

Dingo Warrior and Ultimate Warrior had two different styles..................

    DIngo was a brutal!

  • Hard to believe that the young Bladerunners became Sting and Ultimate Warrior. Too bad they didn't face the LOD Road Warriors, that would've been fun.

  • Jeff Gaylord got his ass whooped every week like clockwork lol.....

  • wow thanks for the info on the theme music..it is AWESOME

  • Eddie Gilbert had a group of baddest biggest men in the UWF it took Dugan, Dibiase and Dr. Death to confront his stable.

  • Who was the mullet haired midget in the red trunks?

  • I think its Eddie Gilbert.....

  • I can't believe no one noticed this. Warrior and Sting both got signature moves and as a combo! Gorilla Slam from Rock right into a semi-Stinger splash.

  • hahahaha, geof GAYLORD....poor fucker.

  • yo i want that theme music anyone got any info let me know, i'll kill that loop ..werd!

  • the theme music is the bridge from the song castle walls by styx, and if the person who posted this answer the first time is reading this, thanks

  • even korchenko didn't get in...haha!!!

  • Humf...what a short match, Jeff Gaylord didnt even get in the ring...lol

Seems like the bladerunners were not together

all that long before Warroir went to WCCW, and

Sting went to the NWA. Warrior's interveiw stated that Sting went to NWA with "Hot Stuff"

    Eddie Gilbert.

  • at the time warrior left, sting stayed right where he was..in the uwf. uwf was merged into the nwa a year later

  • NOPE, you are wrong

  • i'm wrong??!! ok genius why don't u tell us how it went and let those who know say who's right.

  • Dude, shut the fuck up you ass-demon

  • oh,i'm sorry i didn't mean to disrespect the fearsome darsowgolf. cuz at any moment of his choosing he could take the dog's dick out his ass and shut me up permanently. i'd better watch out!! fucking faggot ass troglodite

  • show me one thing wrong in what i said

  • could somebody PLEASE tell me what is that music the runners came out to? the track, the artist, something

  • It's the bridge from a Styx song called "Castle Walls". It was on the "Grand Illusion" album. That particular keyboard part is about 2/3 of the way through the song.

  • it's a u2 song. j/k

  • YO homie,u r a life saver BIG UPS..i been trying to figure this one out since 1986...thanx

  • is that Jeff Foxworthy doing the announcing? haha

  • that's michael ps hayes, dummy.

  • perry jackson yes i remember he was a brother of michael tito janet latoya and jewmaine but nas rejected by his father joseph because of his weight so he went to work for redneck promoter bill watts i was a hge perry jackson fan i` believe he was better than pedro mrales and could have been a great governor like arnold and jessie god bless you mt brother thank you for being such a pro..............................

  • yes. so much promise. perry jackson was very musical like his siblings but he liked country music, 'rasslin, and pick up trucks.

  • haha good one

  • JEFF FUCKIGN GAYLORD

  • Jeff GAY LORD???

  • There's Jeff Gaylord at his HOTTEST!

  • i got their 1st matches from CWA memphis days on tape..man were they green..LOL!

  • Sting looks a lot smaller here than he did in The Bladerunners UWF Debut, I wonder how much longer this match was after that?

  • The Bladerunners were huge, downright scary tandem.

  • yo,does anybody know who the artist is behind that theme music or where to get it?

  • kickass theme music

  • Jeff Gaylord looks like a young Tony Schiavone

  • what a name. i would have changed it to jeff lord.

  • any more jeff videos and wasnt perry jackson and action 1 in the same???

  • yep

  • RIP Eddie Gilbert

  • eddie = god
