I had my foreskin removed when I was about 9 as there was a possible risk of a carcinoma developing. I don't miss it and actually prefer it this way. But for fuck's sake! It helps the child. if being born blind (a disability) can be avoided it should be. however in utero or out circumcision is merely a cosmetic action and therefore should be up to the adult baby. as for abortion, that choice lies with the mother because it is her body that will have to carry the child and her life that will be drastically changed by having the child.

I had my foreskin removed when I was about 9 as there was a possible risk of a carcinoma developing. I don't miss it and actually prefer it this way. But for fuck's sake! You wouldn't remove any other body part for any reason other than a medical one. If there isn't a medical reason it's called mutilation; whether it be the removal of a limb or the foreskin.

@jerryvalez No I am against circumcision (i am also uncircumcised) and pro choice. you see they are two different topics all together. one takes place when the baby exists in full baby form and as a separate entity (ie circumcision) and the other is a woman's choice to terminate a pregnancy prior to a baby being anything more than a collection of cells in a vaguely human like shape (ie abortion).

Surely being born with no foreskin is better than not being born at all. I realize that's pretty ridiculous, I'm just pointing out the complexity of these issues. I read about a blind married couple who were undergoing gene therapy so their child would be born blind. Acceptable?

@jerryvalez it would be acceptable in terms of gene therapy to help the baby see. because this falls under the do no harm heading. It helps the child. if being born blind (a disability) can be avoided it should be. however in utero or out circumcision is merely a cosmetic action and therefore should be up to the adult baby. as for abortion, that choice lies with the mother because it is her body that will have to carry the child and her life that will be drastically changed by having the child.

i wish they would have mentioned that it was legal in the US to circumcise (not the labia etc but the clitoral hood which is the same as the foreskin) female infants until 97. but it was made illegal as it was barbaric and unnecessary. My doctor didn't even blink when my mom said i wouldn't be circumcised. Why you ask? Because my doctor is a real doctor. He doesn't care about money, and in fact, is very happy with me being uncircumcised.
My brother was also left uncircumcised, and is extremely happy with the pleasure he gets with his foreskin.
