It's quite easy to sing over if you know it well it know enough and can ignore the harmony, many people get put off by it, try practising singing in harmony with a friend or family member then move onto rounds! It is a backing track with backing vocals as it has the lead vocal removed.

@TheSilverEyedGirl It's not that hard.. I can stick to the right tune.. Try listening to the original song and hear the background music, then sing it with the voice of the singer and then try the karaoke. Once you've tried, hearing the background voices without messing up would be awesome. =)

For all those saying this is impossible to sing to, obviously do not realise the fact that Chad Kroeger is an absolute vocal genius and very few of us could immitate this guy's vocal tallent... FACT.!! Granted the backing vocals in this vid are slightly to loud and it does put you off some what when trying to sing the lead, but it is in exactly the same key as the original

@ladylaiho83 What are you talking about? In music, everyone is in the same key at the same time, otherwise it sounds like crap. Backing vocals sing on different NOTES to create harmonies, but everyone is in the same key, and they all change keys together if there is one.

@ladylaiho83 JUST TO CLARRIFY, All components of music or songs are written in the SAME KEY but to make music more interesting different parts of the music or vocal are written from a different scale position in that key. I.e this is how harmonics are obtained, otherwise all music and songs would sound very boring after a while and we would of run out of sounds to produce around the times of Mozart.. This is the Genius thing with keys, scales, chords and notes means variation is endless
