Personally I do not think there is anything homoerotic about an effete pose cdean though having said that the sculpture is all about power if you look at his attributes he is holding a huge Fasces, apparently some people find power a turn on. I don’t find the statue particularly erotic myself though attraction is a deeply personal thing I guess.

The symbol is call a "Fasces" and is actually an ancient Roman symbol of authority. It is merely a symbol of elected power. When the axe blade is present in the bundle it also indicates the power over life and death.
