nice contact with the dummy. people need to do more free style, there are to many people on set routines that are not like real fighting. combine both. work the routines and the free style...ralph
Boards dont hit back is true, but even Bruce lee knew the importance of using training equipment that doesnt hit back. If your going to make a comment, Please make an intelligent one. Punching bags and wooden dummies dont hit back but are both an important tool to develop power, footwook and other important areas of combat. Dont forget we dont always have the luxury of a human training partner.
There's only so much impact you can give a dummy, i don't see any need for more impact here because the technique looks spot on. Bags are for impact work !
the first wooden dummy form I've seen that there isn't a pause. I like. I'm not sure if he's holding his breathe or not. Also, more impact would be good on those side palm to the ribs because if you don't practice with impact there and you fight, you might not put impacts to the ribs due to the fact that you practiced without impact there. And a tutorial would be nice.
@beekyosuke This is all parlor tricks. Its amazing that Bruce Lee figured that out 40 years ago and denounced most of his traditional Gung-Fu including Wing-Chun: yet everybody still thinks it works. To quote the true Master "Boards Don't Hit Back".
@ONENIGGER2ANOTHER Yes. I know they don't work. As I study different styles, I keep what is reasonable and usable to me only. People are too bias and try to defend what they like. Its all about advertisement. It's all about belief. My master always told me that its about belief. If I use wing chun against wing chun I will lose if the other person is better. But if I have no form at all, I will many moves to use.
hell Tony! Great to see you on youtube. when i lived in florida, i had done some training with the ken mills group with cbii in cape coral. ive heard many great things about you from the guys back in the day...glad to be able to see ya up to date doing good things. excellent to see the "touch" :)
good work Anthony. keep it up!!nice flow. it's always refreshing to see creativity, guess it comes with your experience. all the best to you and yours, Rahsun.
My name is Anthony Caucci, I have been studying Wing Chun for over 26 years. I lived in Taiwan with Lo Mam Kam in my early twenties. I Have also studied Chin na, White Crane, Wa lu, JKD, Tai Chi, Pakua, and Hsing-I. The video above is a freestyle set, and combination of a few styles. Obviously its not pure traditional WC but i make no claims that it is. I will be posting some applications soon along with some Chin na follow ups. Hope you enjoy

Nice demonstration of speed, power and technique. Personally I prefere to control the dummy more by sticking with it. Impressive stuff!

This is not a wooden dummy form, it is freestyle. Not rehearsed or a remembered routine. I just go.
I'm definitely not holding my breath but it sure does take a lot out of you.

DAMN! You can just hear the power behind each block, screw the hits! I would hate for this guy to block one of my punches, that would hurt!

Nice you are very fast!! But if you can screw harder the wooden dummy's arms I think that it would be better for training.
