  • Eight dislikes ? This means I have to say fuck you eight times you colossal dweebs. Shit.

  • What a question... what would touch me deeper? I have decided it is eyes that know why.

  • This is such an underrated song...

  • What a fantastic song. Happy Rush day everyone. 2112. This song takes me back to my days stationed in Germany, in the mid to late 70's. I married the girl that I thought of when I heard this song. It will be 32 years of marriage, in 2 weeks.

  • If you don't like this , then just fuck off!

  • @diskeywick Succinct and to the point; couldn't have put it better !

  • This whole album is great but this song just hits me deeper than the rest.So freakin' unbelievably beautiful!

  • why is this song so low. i had to turn it on ful blast and still couldnt hear it

  • My all time favourite Rush song!

  • this is one awesome song Rush put out. The whole album is great!

  • ERIE LACKAWANNA! WHITE PRIDE!

  • love song from a progressive rock band (i know rush were more than prog.) is interesting to hear

  • THIS IS BETTER ART THEN THE MONA LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If I am not mistaken, I do belive Geddy Lee wrote these lyrics, Rush is a phenomenon that won't ever be repeated, well, at least not in my lifetime anyway.

  • @herman58100 Amen to that man.....I'm 47 now...I have been listening to RUSH since i was 17.....They are so talented and great!

  • @1windscape Been listening to Rush for 30 years myself.

Saw them first in '81 in Pittsburgh. Should have started going to Rush shows years earlier...

  • @herman58100

Yeah, Geddy wrote this one, and Alex wrote Lessons, leaving the rest of the lyrics to Neil, as per usual.

  • This song makes me want to cry

  • @MaratorBass mission accomplished

  • Time warp tour..... Awesome!!!!

  • what would touch me deeper tears that fall from eyes that only cry. would it touch you deeper then tears that fall from eyes that know why? wow how profound this song surely is. and the ending the guitar its like being renewed

  • what would touch me deeper tears that fall from eyes that only cry. would it touch you deeper then tears that fall from eyes that know why? wow how profound this song surely is.

  • I'm sorry Rush, but Kiss blows

  • I'm a big Rush fan, but I do love the more open and direct songs like this one. So much easier to relate to.I often wonder if the record company was right to pressure after Caress of steel...its an impossible question because they've grow huge on the strength of obscure complex lyrics. Just wonder how they would have fared if they had taken a more direct approach lyrically.......

  • :'( makes me miss my girl too. she likes Rush

  • @Rushguitarist1 I feel you man.

  • @livintex i feel both of you.

  • @Esperant3

LOL Nickelback. You didn't understand -_-

  • One time i saw a hobo with a sck rush shirt frickin lucky hobo

  • When i first heard this song, i cried, and everytime i listen to it, i still do, god bless you RUSH!!!!

  • How I miss my girl when I listen to this song. Reminds me when I was still able to look into her eyes and just see my entire life, with her. Now that she's left me it leaves me with a broken heart.

Rush always making some of the best songs ever, this one is no exception. Anyone who doesn't feel anything from this song must have a heart of stone, seriously

  • RUSH, 2112 just where were they when they wrote this? like it but... a RUSH song?

  • @RideTheRainbowTV Ian Paice SHITS better than Neil Peart plays the drums!! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!

  • @jeffreygaudreault neil pert is god

    in the positive sense,i don't mean he's a pig

  • @jeffreygaudreault look at any list of the greatest drummers. Neil Peart always rates higher

  • The best ballad I have heard, ever...EVER!!!

  • I...cant...believe that i havent heard this song.....o.O

  • I like the way this song ends. Nice touch!

  • Reminds me of the Moody Blues! Beautiful!

  • @electricheel Yup. Very Moody Blues.

  • RUSH is awesome!, always have been, always will be!

  • One of Rush's only love songs. One of the only songs with lyrics by Geddy Lee. Yet one love song alone by Rush is better than the 63548326418 from every other band. And one song by Geddy Lee proves him as a lyricist just as much as Neil Peart's lyrics on almost every other song(even though no one can beat Neil's lyrics).

  • on the album the sound quality sucked so jayman did the best he could with what he had. Rush did not think this song would be played on the air and they emotionally rush this as a fill. It is a tender song to a woman always waiting for her man to come home from recording with the band. Kiss did "Beth" and weird thing is both songs came out at almost the same time. One did not influence the other.

  • RUSH!

  • Neil Peart is a good drummer. But he's no Ian Paice! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!

  • @jeffreygaudreault Neil shits better lyrics than Paice (if he writes any that is)

  • Too all you young kids that are gettin' dogged by "the old guard"

    Keep playin!

  • So many memories.............

  • Along with this song, it's amazing how many RUSh fans I run into at their concerts who think I'm stoned or have the wrong band when I ask them: "So, do you like the song Losing it?"

  • @Magnimammen

I know. I adore Losing It, and everyone seems to hate it. What the f is wrong with people?

Also, my liking this song and Losing It might have something to do with the fact that I'm 13... but I don't know.

  • shit quality

  • im 13 nd my father got me into rush like two years ago only found this song on my iupod today!! fantastic dosent showcase neal pearts talents but fantastic real emotion rush have a feel like no other!! some hate some love hope there this good in may im going to see there timemachine tour gnna be sick!

  • Dec. 21 "12?.

  • who put you douchebag kids here in 2011

sorry that everything about that crap that you never knew?

dont take my 45 year old ass' words for it...look it up..

    filed under truth

  • I'm a teenager and this is still the best band in the world. Raw talent.

  • I saw Primus open for Rush in the early 90's. I believe they chose Primus because they were a power trio. If they had the cajones to bring No Means No, they would have had dual Canadian trios. It's quite sad that I imagine such scenarios. When I was a kid I wished that Rik Emmet would quit Triumph and replace Alex Lifeson on guitar and take over some vocal duties from Geddy. Triumph-another Canadian power trio! Is it because of sparce populations that they all have so few members? But GYBE...

  • man, this is touching, definitely my favorite song from rush, and this is coming from a dude, I'm glad we have rush.

  • Just wondering.......how many of the respondents live in Canada and how many in the U.S. .......or elswhere? Please enlighten !

  • @jsinc909 One for Canada. Toronto in fact :) Nothing in the world beats seeing Rush in their hometown, they always kick it up a notch when theyre here.

  • Mellotron !!

  • like !!!

  • @jsinc909 I agree, and yes, you did miss many. Alice Cooper has a slow song on almost every album, and they're all wonderful.

  • i never really listened to this song enough to like it but i just listened to it for the first time in years and it is very good!

  • Rush is such a great band. They are True musicians.

  • two days left for the concert!!!!! I LOVE RUSH!!

  • thumbs up if rush pwnes!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MRec1124 Ponies?

  • @MRec1124 doesn't that get old?

  • It is bizarre that when some " hard rock " bands do a slow and quiet song such as this one they get it perfect. Also in that genre is Kiss' "Beth" , Led Zeppelins " Rain Song" and Nickelbacks "So Far Away" .....any others that I may have missed ?

  • @jsinc909 van halen's got a few cathedral (no vocals in it though), love walks in, how many say i, and when it's love. aerosmith has i don't wanna miss a thing. metallica has nothing else matters and mama said.

  • @jsinc909

Wow. Nickelback & Rush in the same sentence?

  • @beowulven Rush , Pussycat Dolls, Ekrem Jevric.

  • @balerinauzicka

    Excellent.

  • @beowulven It's hard to credit that Rush and Nickelback belong to the same *species*.

  • never mention the Holy Triumvirate known as Rush. With Nickelback in the same sentence. Chad Kroeger will never be Geddy Lee and he sucks as a guitarist. So he will never equate to Alex. And he doesn't play drums. Fuck Nickelback. Hail Rush!!!!

  • @beowulven

    Whats a nickelback?

  • Yeah, they both suck. Thats like shit meeting boogers.

  • @jsinc909 dont compare other bands compositions to this song, this one is simply too beautiful to compare just read the lyrics.

  • This is pure. I had the pleasure to see those 3 last night. I thought of you and your family. I hope that you have the opportunity to see this tour.

  • i'm only 14, and my dad always played rush songs... over the past year or so, i actually started listening to them at my own time and frinding my favorites... this is deffinitly one of them

  • Oh my Lord if he could only touch my heart with his hand so my heart doesen"t hurt the way it does . MY HEART HURTS ALOT. ALMALAGITANA63

  • @grungerobotnow Then you must love Nickelback.

  • @grungerobotnow Whats wrong with being gay

  • I don't care what anyone says, my life wouldn't be the same without RUSH. I'm 15, and I just love their work. Every song they've done just inspires me so much.

  • I wish they would play this live, also i wish they would write songs like this again. The heavy stuff is great, but this is another side of them i admire alot. Stuff like Panacea, Different Strings, etc...

  • @bassmanjoe Indeed, but unfortunately Geddy doesn't have the kind of range anymore to pull that stuff off even down-tuned. What a powerful set of pipes he must have to last this long though huh. Impressive.

  • @funkster007 He can still sing this song, if anything this would be the song off 2112 he could sing best these days in my opinion. The rest is way out of his range.

  • @bassmanjoe Well ironically they still do play 2112 intro-Temples Of Syrinx, although in a lower key, so anythings possible. I'll see them Friday night...hopefully I'll run into Alex and Ged at the beer tent and I'll request Tears. =)

  • @funkster007 That would be very cool if they played it, good luck at the beer tent...:-)

  • sounds like campfire music meets air supply!

  • @MeYouView air supply??? WTF!!!

  • fuck... I love this song with all single bone of my body

  • @Zeppelinscrap so fucking agree :D

  • so it cost me a soda to speak, so to speak?

slow long and repetitive, yhen lost in your archives, i looked at the time machine, what 2010 i can see, for me, wonderfull skull and clockwork still, my wheely wagon desperate dragon, fruit and sustinance, at Bubba's Bar and Grill!

  • a song that never gets talked about but i think is one of their all time best such diversity in this band rush forever rules

  • Thanks for the upload. Such a great song.

  • all this people that says 'stairway is better' probably aren't even real led zeppelin fans...they are just flamers...oh right and the song is called stairway to heaven not only STAIRWAY

P.S Rush are incredible i just started to listen to them but i already think they are great

  • So terribly depressing, but in a good way. Very, VERY good song!!!

  • its some of a few songs wrritten by geddy , and its awesome

    we love you Rush!!

  • metalman that is so harsh.i dont know if i could ever listen to rush again.we played the sphere at our wedding.may god be with you

  • Stairway is just plucked chords. Dosent take much to make a song like that.

  • unbelievable this is sooo sick and right

  • Hey don't diss Rush billythehoople. Rush is better than stairway.

  • Hey don't diss Rush billythehoople. Rush is better than stairway.

  • best. band. ever!

  • This song will always remind me of a girl I met on a highschool trip in NYC in 1987.

I never forgot her. She is a bigshot lawyer in VA now. Not only was she beautiful but she loved RUSH.

  • ditto frambrianna ..the bauty of youth and perfection music that has and will stand the test of time...long live the 3 amigo`s

  • Such a beautiful song for those of us lucky enough to taste the deep emotion of real love. Rush are and always have been a fabulous, multi-talented band. Geddy Lee has a stunning voice and plays bass like no other! Hi to all fans, oldies like me and the new generation! x

  • @coopersgirl52 Just turned 49 and can't agree more.

  • @coopersgirl52 i bow before old rush fans like yourself.. i am a new generation RUSH FAN. I love Rush's music and that's an understatement

  • @GutsyguyPrime No need to bow! Thanks to Youtube we can discover and rediscover the phenomenon that is Rush! You'll know that in the early days of the band, fans had no way of seeing them online or DVD, so this is a real treasure box.

  • @coopersgirl52 it sure is, i learned about Rush from my father a couple of years back, then started listening to them right away. I even got the albums, "Fly By Night", "2112", and "Hemispheres" from my grandfather's house so now i got treasures of my own, even though Rush's music is already a treasure to have and a priviledge to listen to. It's also really nice i get to speak to long-time Rush fans on here like yourself. I'm amazed to have heard of such a band that can be so few but so powerful

  • @GutsyguyPrime I wish I had a GRANDSON like you my young friend for you are wise beyond your years. You have discovered something that will enhance your life and sweep you away from the troubles you will encounter in your life. I grew up with RUSH and I too feel priviledged I shared some time on this planet with these unique people. They surpased all of my expectations and helped me through my bad times as well. The first track I ever heard was Xanadu, WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

  • @111chazz You are so right man!! I am 15 years old and my classmates all love fuckin techno or death or gothic and they are all missing the one music that rules all genres, and that's Prog Rock, and when i say prog rock, i mean REAL Prog , like: Pink Floyd Rush Genesis King Crimson Yes Hawkwind (maybe) Led Zeppelin Justin Hayward Peter Gabriel I wish These Lords of Prog Can return someday but sadly they can't :/
  • @MrLukescerri Awesome taste..but Led Zep arent prog. Their an awesome band and have expermented in various genres...but Prog isnt one of em

  • @111chazz Thanks. :) Xanadu? Nice! My dad would play Rush alot when i was younger and i wouldn't know who was playing. The first time i really knew that it was Rush playing was a couple of years ago, my dad was listening to 2112 and it was up to the Temples Of Syrinx when i asked my dad what the name of the song was because it sounded SO GOOD. My dad then told me the name of that part of the song. Months later, i discovered who played the wonderful music, Rush, a 3-man band that changed my life.

  • @GutsyguyPrime You have no idea how wonderful it is to see such positive comments about the unsurpassable Rush from younger fans. I once despaired of music ever being good again, with all the manufactured crap and talentless tosh on 'talent' shows, aaghhh! Keep the fires burning for Rush and other genuine musicians!

  • @coopersgirl52 well said :) and will do. I am just too lucky to have a conversation with Rush fans of greater years than I. And I thank the world for loving this music with me, so we can have the want (check that, need) to preserve this amazing music

  • @coopersgirl52 im glad that the youth of today can recognize what real music is..keep rush alive in the high schools babe...they are the true gods of rock

  • @coopersgirl52 NEW GENERATION HERE!!!

  • @coopersgirl52 are we talkin' teens when this album came out? if yes... then i'm there with you... RUSH ! ! !

  • @coopersgirl52

You are so right about this song! It gives me the goose bumps every time and takes me back to the dance of my life...sweet memories...

I am such a rush fan..Geddy Lee especially is my hero! The talent of these 3 men amazes me..love love love!

I was blessed to see them live in concert! It was truly magical...!!!! An evening with rush... the woodlands, TX!!!!! There were many generations of fans there... of all ages... what a wonderful sharing of musical bliss!

  • I remember having the cassette ...winter time in the comfort of my parents home ....At night listening over and over... Rush is so awesome!!

  • To be savored and enjoyed,,I open up this Rush song,,just ever so often and drink...

  • what do ya drink?

  • tears flow remembering when i first was given rush to behold xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • It's been forever since I've heard this song, but I've never forgotten it. Thank You Rush. x

  • Ive been a fan for over 33 years(2 mariages 4 kids) Ive seen them every time they came even close to Lower Alabama! Rush Still Rocks! Had to listen to the CD agan after listning to this song...:) Timeless!! Blessed Be!

  • god bless ya, Im 26 and only been a fan for 2 years. Great music can speak across generations i guess.

  • speaking (as If) from the time, the comparison was more with Budgie then!

  • Rush was always a Rock God. No matter what others might think, Rush kicks ass. This song is just one example of that Goddness coming out. Dont stop with the music, Rush!

  • i never compair RUSH to any other band they are unique in thier own way .... they are in a class of thier own

  • Its daft to compare rush with zeppelin. very different, but rush wrote SOOOO many MUCH better songs!!! beautiful, inspired and talented!!! (and they were canadian!! ; ) )

  • The most heart tugging song Rush have done, Zepplin? no comparison...

  • @TheBleech

What about live version of Rain Song from zep?

  • What a beautiful song and what a way to end 2112. Love it.

  • To all that say Stairway isn't better, it probably isn't. The problem with your assumption is that they cannot be compared. Tears is a 3 and a half minute love song (without a solo) about sadness. Stairway is a 7 and a half song with a guitar solo that gets heavier like Zeppelin does music. Stairway's also about religion, what's out there, and where we go when we die. Frankly, The only reason Stairway is better is the fact that it gives you more to appreciate, as in, it's longer.

  • Kicks stariways ass

  • 3:19

    genius!

  • Rush is defnitely my life! You have no idea how they are adored in Brazil! Lifeson, Peart, Lee, thanks for everything, thanks fopr more than simple years, thanks for my life!

  • I can't believe they don't even play this anymore, its so amazing! if i had a girlfriend right now, I would dedicate this to her:)

  • Definitely in my top 10 favorite Rush songs of all time. May approach my top 5.

  • My girlfriend gave me the LP of this album for our first anniversary. Now all I need is a record player...

    I'm 18, btw.

  • Keep her for ever

  • If you like this song you should give Ozzy's "Im So Tired" from Bark At The Moon"

  • This song will make you cry if you're not careful and fall into love

  • I heard Dream Theater's version, a good cover but the original is better.

What happened to the 'heavily influenced by Rush' band that did this cover???

  • This song is awesome it could easily bring a tear the your eye. And did you know geddy wrote this song not neil.

  • if its a tear in ur eye u wnt look no further than Black Sabbaths 'She's Gone' if u dnt cry 2 tht, i challenge u 2 prove ur human !
