Why choose Sydney?

why is ANU ranked so much higher on a world basis than usyd when admission into ANU is so much easier. you'd think usyd would be of higher ranking considering the prestige, the history, and the very hih uai cutoffs. can someone please tell me why

The UAI cut-offs reflect supply and demand, not course quality. The low UAI cut-offs for ANU reflect the fact that few students are willing to move to Canberra.

Wrong and wrong. The majority of rank is attributed to the RESEARCH that is done at the university, not the teaching in the courses. ANU is ranked higher based on its quality of research and citations.
