Aasif Mandvi (sp?) is the Daily Show guy and he's actually a good dramatic actor. Watch Jericho (great show that was cancelled way to early, it streams on netflix often) and you'll see what I mean. But in that movie, no one was good. I love the show, I went with a friend who had never seen it and we were both equally appalled by the movie. And we both like terrible movies! But this movie was too terrible to be enjoyed even on that level.
My mother and I went to see it when it first came out and I was all like "Heey I'm cosplaying as Katara I'm a water bender uwahhhhhh!" before watching it. After getting out of the theater..... I realized that the movie a suckerpunch in the face..... It sucked, and when it got the razzie, I laughed because that movie was really bad. I mean, I'm not being a hater and hating it cuz everyone else does. I hate it because it barely holds true to the show and I'm a hardcore fan. No Suki!

Well, I can't believe I'm just now getting around to this video, but yeah...
I gotta say that I agree - the movie stunk. And what disappointed me the most was the lack of comedy. What made me fall in love with the show first off? Sokka's sarcasm, Katara's spaz attack... ya know... the COMEDY!! And it's like the director just decided that one of the most important elements (see what I did there?) - comedy - of the show wasn't important.
The only thing I disagree with you on is the fact that you were "okay" with Sokka's actor (I don't care enough to remember his name) because I just didn't like him... just no. He was dry and humorless, and I didn't find him attractive at all (and I kinda find Sokka attractive... heh). Though I suppose Sokka's sense of humor IS a bit dry, it's not THAT dry.
I thought the action scenes were okay though. "The effects were decent"... lol.
Honestly, I don't remember much about the move. I was so distracted by them mispronouncing the names that I didn't concentrate much...
I hardly concentrate at all these day, so whatever...
Anywayz... after all that rambling (the character count is my mortal enemy), I gotta say that I think you're really funny, and I agree with alot of your opinions! I'd love to get to know you. So, in respect to a good sense of humor, I subbed to you.
I love the dramatic close ups part LMAO. M Night wrote the script and he was horrible for directing this movie. I do agree no one could've directed that script and made it awesome but anyone could have made a better movie. That's just IMO
No,no, no! This review was going great until you said they should make more. M.Night has already done enough damage to an awesome show. Perhaps if they changed the Director and rewrote the script. Maybe, just maybe I'd be inclined to jump on board again.
@trustfund82 I too want to see the next movie(if there's one) because if I learned anything from the original series, it would be that if you have mistakes, then make an effort to redeem your honor....And this movie and the director was pretty much a mistake. So yeah, I'll let them ''redeem''.
I thought the movie was awesome, but it takes them like 7 earthbenders 5 minutes to throw one small rock at the fire nation, in the show it only take one person two seconds.
My dad saw the show after the movie only because I said it was better. I hated that they left out Suki! I loved Suki! If they leave out Mai and Ty Lee i will die!
@CourtoonXIII IDK, Suki was pretty damn important! The only scene I actually like was Yue's deaht where her hair changed color. It was pretty to watch. Katara's water bending was pathetic too!

Or maybe indian.....
but in the cartoon he is Japanese.
And there are no girl air benders with hair !
They left out important characters too like Jet and the man that Yue was going to marry. It was a true disappointment.
The acting was pretty bad too, though the special affects were good.
But I hope they redeem themselves as well.

agreed... Sokka was of course my favorite. Wish he was still funny but ah well. I think he looks real damn close to a real life Sokka to.. haha

@WeCanCos Apparently they filmed all the scenes with Suki but they were deleted! Which is SO stupid-
Mai and Ty Lee are SO important, I doubt they will be left out.
