  • i actually laughed out loud when you explained that crappin your pants on regular basis is bad.

  • why open borders with korea?they could have settled in your land.

  • @formerutuber AI won't send settlers through the borders on land. Just using ships.

  • Hey TMIT or others, I was wondering if you can answer this barb related question. I'm playing this map and I've settled my cities similar to yours. I withstood the same onslaught of Barbarians. However, in your case once the barb cities were settled, you still had the odd barb Archer show up. In my case, spearmen. Why is that? Is it strictly getting jammed by the RNG? I didn't see you send out sentry units apart from the Chariot who's exploring. Pretty fakking frustrating...

  • @Yanner39

Barbs getting tech is a factor of the #civs that know it. Possibly I got away longer because I myself delayed BW a bit, ironically.

RNG probably plays a small factor also!

  • @TMIT What are your thoughts on an early Academy? Some say it's important but in your case, you're focusing so much on workers and settlers that I don't think you even have a Library in the capital? In all my case, I am never sure how to prioritize this. When do you feel an academy should be settled? Does a gold start make it less important?

  • @Yanner39

An academy is worth while to get ASAP as long as you don't miss out on good city sites to secure it.

On this map...well there are a lot of good city sites.

  • I wish I could see the top of the screen so I could see your gold...

  • @MorbiusSlayer

5 gold in the beginning and 34 gold at the end. You can see it in the full screen video.

  • This map is fairly easy. I got to 15 cities with no wars by around 200 AD.

How come you never whip settlers and workers? It can really speed up expansion.

  • @mtgforlife

Not as much as you think, and w/o a granary not at all.

When you whip you take pop off of tiles. When it's just farms or junk tiles that is a good thing. When you whip off of grassland mines, plains mines at pop 6+, or any special resource it is actually slowing down your total production...

  • @TheMelnTeam You tend to build a lot more infrastructural than I do. I like to grow into unhappiness and whip like mad, I don't see you do that much. In this game my capital went from pop 7 to pop 4 a lot. It probably allowed to max out my cities a lot faster than you. But we will have to see what you do.

One thing is that you will have a weaker city later in the game, but you will have more cities faster. I even grow my new cities to pop 4 just so I can whip a settler in a couple turns.
