  • I remember that ad.

  • @MegaPokemon2001 Both rules.Better than Sony and Microsoft one (These are Graphics Whore)

BTW Better your Grammar and Words.

  • Nintendo/Sega War > 360/PS3 War

  • @thomasfan69 There was no real war, actually. Sega had a short term domination of the gaming market from 89 to the beginning of 91, then Nintendo came along and reclaimed the market. It's not so much a war as it was Sega desperately trying to fight back.

  • i own all mario games on gba wii vc wii super mario all stars collector set , nes and super nintendo lol in fact the only mario game i dont own is super mario land 3! lol

  • @ninendowii2000

Do you also have other games that Mario was in like the first 3 Donkey Kong games, Mike Tyson's Punchout, Baseball (Game Boy), Alleyway (Game Boy), Tennis (Game Boy), etc? There are also several ports of Mario Bros on the Atari consoles and I think Intellivision & Colecovision too.

As for me, the only ones I care about are the ones on the NES, the first on on the NES, the 3 on Game Boy & New SMB for Wii & the DS. The new one coming out for the 3DS looks really good.

  • @ninendowii2000 Don't forget the CDi

  • I wanted SNES but i got a genesis instead. I had blast processing atleast. : P

  • I Lol'd

  • certainly not one of nintendos best ads. basically their dont even give you a single game with it. they give you 4 recycled games from the NES packed into ONE cartrigde. IMO thats not the same (or anywhere near) as 4 seperate games for the SNES....

  • @SirPepe666

I kind of agree. At least nobody who had an NES was getting anything new, except for the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros 2 which was previously unavailable in the U.S. & rebranded as the Lost Levels. But I'd much rather play the original 8-bit Famicom Disk System version of that game, which I bought but can't play yet since I don't have the Famicom or its Disk System add-on that you need. I feel the same with the other games (I always play the 8-bit versions).

  • @SirPepe666 True They weren't new games, however the graphics previously used for the bs versions of the games were good looking, also the game also included a two player battle game in super mario bros 3 based on mario bros which was pretty fun.

  • Nintendo basically slandered Sega HARD back then. (Sega gave free games with the purchase of a console, pack-in or otherwise.)

  • sonic in mario all star

  • 1 person owned a Sega Genesis.

  • @VTwinty MegaPokemon2001 owned that Sega Genesis.

  • @VTwinty Me too. But I gotta admit, that's a good deal. Though, Sega 6 Pak packed in 6 Sega games.

  • Eh eh eh, don't even start comparing the SNES with the SEGA, same century, two great systems.

  • @MegaPokemon2001

Nah, both companies are good and gave us many great games & consoles.

  • @wtcvidman yeah that guy is just a troll but in my opnion i do like sonic better

  • @MegaPokemon2001

That is just an opinion. I think Sega and Nintendo are both good in thier own right, and the fact that Sega games are in Nintendo is a sign that the little war is over between them.

  • @MegaPokemon2001

Netendo was pretty awful. I'm glad you pointed that out. They were just a shoddy Chinese company trying to mooch off of the success of NINTENDO! Thank you MegaPokemon for pointing that out. Also, you love nintendo so much you have one of their flagship titles as their name. You must be a mega fan

  • God, just imagine if Sega had a promotion where you could send in for a free copy of the 6-pak cartridge. Sega gives you 6 free games, Nintendo only gives you 4 free games. Oh, but wait. Those are 4 free games from the NES, the last generation of consoles...

  • @EyeS2pify

Sega back in 1992 had a promo where if you bought the Genesis console that came with Sonic, you got Sonic 2 for free. I actually have that commercial posted up. As for me, I enjoyed both consoles. I got a Super Nintendo in 1993 & my brother convinced me to return it & I got a Genesis after that and eventually a Sega CD. The Genesis control port got messed up eventually & I returned it & bought a CDX & my brother got a Super Nintendo around then.

  • I'd rather buy my sega genesis with no free games and pay 3x the amount of a snes with 4 free games. Sega is just that good. Nintendo is just that desperate.

  • @EyeS2pify

I'd like Sega to get back in the console business someday. Same with Atari. I'd like to see Sega, Atari (a reborn Atari from whatever's left now) & Nintendo as the big 3 sometime in the future but chances are that it will never happen. Sega was a master of hardware since they were in the arcade business since the 70's. I'd like for them to wait until the next Sony & Microsoft consoles are out & build a better machine not long after they're out.

  • @wtcvidman You and me both want to see Sega make a new console, but I disagree with the other part of your post. Sony is the hardware king now. There is so much you can do with their consoles. You can stream games, music, and movies from your ps3 to your psp anytime via wifi. It's also the most powerful console. PS move is great for shooters. Sony will always be in the gaming industry, because they don't just make games. They make electronics in general and they will always have the newest tech.

  • @EyeS2pify

Well, I do plan to get a PS3 eventually when I could afford one. Before getting a Nintendo DS Lite, a PS2 & a PSP all last year I've been out of the gaming loop since I got my CDX & Game Boy Color as my last regular & portable consoles. So far I only played the DS Lite and only played the GBA version of A Link to the Past on it, which I regret getting since it's inferior & I can't even play the Four Swords game in 1 player mode.

  • @EyeS2pify

I've been getting games for the PS2 & PSP since before I bought them. I got Fire Pro Wrestling Returns since I'm a huge fan of the Fire Pro series & absolutely loved Fire Pro D that my brother got on his Dreamcast & found out that FPR is even better (the best of the series actually). I also have been getting many PS3 games as I found them on sale since I'm sure many won't be in stores by the time I get a PS3.

  • @EyeS2pify

Sony definitely has the edge since they not only make technology but they're a production company with studios (which is why the Blu-ray format won the format war against HD DVDs). And that's a big factor since consoles now not only play videogames but movies & other things as well. The only way I can see them losing is if the price tag per game & the gimmicks for downloadable content pisses too many people off that a call for more basic consoles reverts the industry to what it was.

  • Sega came with no free games? Mine came with sonic 2 and my snes only came with Mario world. Plus through some promotion I got to send away for a free genesis game from a list.

But I still liked both systems :)

  • AH competition. I loved 'em both. :]

  • SEGA fan: *Goes up to the blackboard and writes 100 times* "Genesis does what Nintendon't.

  • THIS IS FUNNY. STILL IT IS. ASLO I HAVE THAT GAME

  • anyone who chooses SNES over Sega Genesis is a complete retard! get both and be happier :)

  • Farmer ground is quite a retard :D

  • wow nintendo was mean to sega they spelled sonic sonk

  • very similar to the jaguar commercial

  • Genesis does what nintendon't

  • One person chose a Sega over Super NES

  • LOL! Sonk

  • Why cant nintendo have a promo like that now to get people to buy the red wii's and the new mario all-stars? God damn this would have been perfect.

  • @CodenameNovacaine

Because nothing nowadays has any character, especially commercials, which just suck. I loved the Sega & Nintendo ads of the 90's & all sorts of other ads from the 80's (which IMO had the best ones) and the 90's. Nowadays, nobody has the balls to do anything noteworthy anymore. That's why commercials, movies, TV shows (for the most part), wrestling, and so many other things suck so badly nowadays.

  • @wtcvidman You don't think nowadays commercials have any character? What about PS3 commercials with Kevin Butler? Those are hilarity gold. And the PS Move commercial where Kevin makes fun of the Kinect and Wii, but doesn't actually call them out by name, is very similar to these Sega commercials.

  • @EyeS2pify

I'm not crazy about them. I miss the ones with the jingles (like Genesis Does What Nintendon't) and all those other crazy commercials where they showed a million things happening (like the one with Sadam Hussein & Joe Montana that I have) and the one with Blast Processing that I also have. Those commercials are remembered by many for years. I'm sure the recent ones will be forgotten in due time. I like the PS3, but I'll always love the 2D consoles more than any other.

  • My college can use our Wiis to play Super Mario Bros 1-3 Mario World, and the Sonic games, but we also own a real Super NES and Genesis for playing them. Was gaming simpler in the 1990s or what?

  • @CaptainAshSpearow

Definitely was simpler. The last console I got since very recently was the Sega CDX (that Genesis/Sega CD combo console that Sega released). I recently got a Nintendo DS Lite over the summer and a PS2 & a PSP over the last month. I can't believe all the stuff you need to do to set up the PS2 & PSP regarding network connections & PSN accounts. And now when you buy games, they ask you about an extended service plan. And the strategy guides cost more money than the games.

  • @CaptainAshSpearow

Also, I remember getting Link's Awakening (my 2nd favorite Zelda game after A Link to the Past) for the Game Boy for $12.88 brand new at Toys R Us & Super Mario Land 2 from The Wiz for about $15. I went to the same Toys R Us & found New Super Mario Bros for the DS, a 4 year old game that was released in 2006, to be $29.99 and the guy told me that no Nintendo games are cheaper than $29.99. I responded by telling him about getting Link's Awakening for $12.88.

  • That's great.

  • i got this with my SNES it was a great deal! i think this was one of Nintendo's best promotions ever.

  • lol SNES came with "four" games.. weren't they all (or at least 3 of them) the old Mario games for NES? And I'm pretty sure my Sega came with 3 or 4 games except they were all crap besides Sonic.

  • Teens: Mario is old and kiddy and for 4 year olds and Sega rocks!"

  • Snes >>>> Sega Genesis

    Sonic the Hedgehog >>>>>> Mario

  • I bet all those other kids picked the Genesis.

  • lol, the Sega fan is a stoner.

  • I definitely remember this commercial! But hang on a second, didn't the Genesis actually come with free games like Sonic 2 at some point too?

  • @FroggoFan651

Yeah, I posted a commercial where they had a promo for a free Sonic 2 when you bought the Genesis with the 1st Sonic game.

  • Hey SEGA is good tooo! RACIST teacher to SEGA

  • haha that,s a good one,now if they also had future extended this commercial,by telling that you will get 5 games in 1,in the supermario 5 pack set, that would,ve been complete, but yeah those 5 pack mario games are rare!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nasty commercial but now it seems nostalgic.

  • This is when Nintendo finally started to fight back against Sega in their commercials. Before 1994, Sega was making all the attacks on Nintendo.

  • @NintendoManiac2010 Star Fox was the first one where Nintendo fought back. It said and I quote: "Why go to the next level when you can go lightyears beyond?"

  • awesome :D
