Hi mate, I honestly prefer the tone of a 1x12... But a full stack of straight 4x12's is a sight and sound to behold :-)

If you are playing a gig, and only through one cab (like most sane people) , imh experience, I have found you cant really hear yourself when you are blasting the sound at your legs, so the angled cab points the top speakers up a bit.

It doesnt help being 6'4 but you get the point.

The only real cure for live sound issues is to hire a front of house/monitor man... makes a huge difference. Although I have yet to try the Bonamassa barrier method :-)

Hi! Alex here, I just subscribed and I have a question about tremolos. I am am in the market for an upgrade! Would you recommend buying a tremolo guitar and blocking it off for occasional tremolo use or go right ahead for a fixed/string-through guitar(which I already have). I am leaning towards the fixed because I prefer stability over a guitar that might be able to do more, but whatever. I would like to hear your input.

Tremelo's are evil... get a fixed bridge and don't worry about tuning issues. I much prefer fixed... but it's up to you mate :-)

If you really are going to use your tremolo a "tremel-no" device allows you to change from fixed to floating and back very quickly - if not, get a fixed bridge.

Hi mate you need EXL-145 which are 12 - 54 with a plain unwound 3rd, that's what I use in 25.5 scale (Strat type) :-)

Monkey Lord, I asked you a while ago about Rockfield Black Betty pickups. You hadn't heard of them (for good reason, too. they're really very new), but I doubt you remember.

Anyway, I got the guitar in that came with them - they sound absolutely fantastic. The only thing I know they come stock on is the Michael Kelly Hex Deluxe - you should give them a try sometime, I think you'll like them :)
