Don't be hard on yourself, if you try too hard then it's gonna come out worse. Work at your own pace, that's what I do. Even though my Flash sucks, my parents and friends think it's great, but the rest of the internet thinks it sucks, but I keep going on with it. What I'm saying is: Only you should care how good your stuff is, the rest of the internet's opinions about how good or bad your animations are aren't as important as your opinion.

Hey, I finally got a wacom tablet for Christmas, and I've had practically 0 time to do any animation. If I don't feel like drawing I don't. You shouldn't have to either. I've got like, half of a video done, and I don't even want to finish it now :P

I'm a big fan of your work and i'm just one of hundreds of thousands. Personally, I'm a story writer myself who just sticks with word documents and posting them on a forum site for 5 people to read. Those 5 people keep me going with my writing cause they're the only ones ill show them to. Truth is, i'm somewhat afraid of judgement, however i don't give a living fuck if people think they're terrible or not. I put my ideas on paper and I do it for fun. I hope to more of your work Scoot.
I know how you feel, when I started doing comics when I was 17, I was horribly bad doing the body anatomy. Head squared, long neck, short legs, etc...:P
I still doing some comics here and there and I'm still leaning the human anatomy(really learning the anatomy) But I'm still bad dong the female anatomy. And that's what I'm learning right now(Beautiful but yea).:D

That's... sad. Take some time off to gather yourself. Try to think back and re-realize what made you want to animate back in the beginning. Review some of your original work, and just... think about it. People may oppose this, but maybe you should do something else for a while. I hope you find your spirit again.
Take all the time in the world man. I have noticed that A.E. Chinicles seems to take several pointers from "Silent Hill" (for example, the organic looking bridge from A.E. ch 0 ep 1) which isn't bad, but the fact you're doing Silent Hill shows that the next one will be MUCH more epic! The same goes for WHOOKOS to Azgamanga Dio (mostly hanging out and you all have nicknames). You guys even inspired me and my friends to give eachother nick names. keep up the great work. Take a year off if you need
I think it's right for ya to take a break from all this, Scoot, believe me man, i know how ya feel, it was the same thing w/ me, cept it was people where I live, so I just stopped making what they wanted me to make, and I agree with what you said about Frame by Frame, really crappy, that's actually all the videos I've got, just Frames, but I think I might have a comeback sooner or later man, I hope everything's gonna be alright on your end, man.

Relax and keep doing animations for fun. Don't listen to the assholes. A true fan will accept the person for who they are. I mean, you inspired me to start animations. I don't have the tools yet, but I'm working on it. Take as much time as you need =).
Scoot, don't let anything hinder you from doing what you love. I know what you mean when you say you feel about how you are creating another world. I love watching your animations and they bring such joy and light to anyone's dark day.
But being able to enjoy it and bring light to yourself is what its about as well. When you get that feeling back it will show in your animations. You already have many fans who will wait forever for you and I am one of them.
i do have to agree cuz u should be happy with ur work in my opinion again compared to other ppl u do agumentaly perfect animations. ill also agree here or its my own opinion idk that u lost ur creativaty due to it being a little not alot but a little like a job rushing is never that great either in all retrospect taking things slow and doing it right is always best either in animatons or drawings well find ur spark or what ever and take things slow to get it the way u want i guse
Dude, you are AMAZING!!!!! Don't give up, everything you do looks good despite some people's opinions. It is fair to take a break, you released 2 episodes of WHOOKOS at once, AT ONCE!!! That's like 20 minutes of silliness in one sitting. I'd help if I could but the only thing I'm good for is voicing and writing, I'm not a good artist, but keep rocking Scoot, you're teh best. XD
I know the difference about creating/drawing/animating a story. But there's one thing that will be always the same. Your relation with the fans of these stories. I know it's stressing to do a good animation and you don't want to disappoint your fans. But if you relax a little and go do things you want to do, your animations somehow will get better. I'm gonna tell something: Even the animes aren't that perfection about animation. Believe me... Also get better!

Dude, can't wait too see the great new episodes for WHOOSKOS and A. E. Chronics. They're hilarious and gives this 'can relate' feel to it. When I noticed the bar wasn't moving for productivity on new episodes I thought this was done and a piece of me died right there xD

Dude, you said that Whookos didn't care what people think. I know that's not completely true about anyone, no matter what they say, but the reality is this: If you want ti impress and get praise from ppl on the internet, continue the Zelda uo series. If not, then maybe animating simply for yourself, friends and family again is best for you. You may benefit from it, but it's up to you.
@MrGroogly in my opinon whookos and A.E are better then UO because its his own i deas and not a fan based animation even tho i liked the series i like whookos ans A.E better and if it takes a year for them to make a new one i wont get pissed off like most people wanting UO to come back it might never come back
I think that you need to take a break, Scoot take it, life gets crazy really easy this day and age and i think that slumps can happen to anyone. don't sweat it, ease off for a bit, and when ur ready come back and blow our minds :D
Don't feel down about your animations Scoot, you've been doing amazing work! Even these new ones just made feel so incredibly happy! I know how you feel though with the animation in a way, for me, I wrote three versions of a story I cherished because the first and second versions of it...to me felt not enough or just flat out SUCKED! but your animation have been without a doubt amazing! And I know they will continue to grow :) it will come to you :) stay awesome! I'll try out Star Fox too.
Dude, it's cool to take your time. I just joined your site not too long ago and began watching both WHOOKOS and A.E on recommendation from a friend and both story-lines are frikin awesome!
Needless to say, we are both well satisfied with how things have been going (voice/animation/etc) but if you feel that you can do better, hey- no complaints here Scoot!

@MusicMan53100 We all get into those slumps abt many things. I used to not be able to finish a single FanFic but recently Iv come up with 2 ideas for 1-shots (uploaded recently) and also chapter 1&2 for another (uploaded ch. 1). Try and find your "im creating a whole ne world here" excitment and get outof that slump and show us what you can really do!
Haha don't worry Scoot everyone needs a time off to think things through. It happens to me all the time! :3 I'm not an animator, yet, although i feel the same way when I draw stuff. I need a lot of inspiration or else they're just not gonna feel right. And don't push yourself, remember you're in control so it's not like you HAVE to do it. Unless someone with higher authority pins you down and threatens you then that's a different story O_O

I kind of had a feeling that inspiration was somewhat the case... recently I was watching your A.E Beta animation. Old whookos Halloween special 2006... old whookos animations.. all that. Then...I watch some of your newer things released in 2010 and... It just didn't feel the same. To be honest It didn't even feel like I was watching the same animator, Not saying the old animations are great or better but.... Your new work just dosen't have that .... same excitement that same "Imagination"

I would spend some time just thinking about how the episodes will look, scene by scene. Keep asking yourself, "How can I make this look more awesome?" and see where your creativity will take you. You might not get your ideas right away, but when you do you will feel just as awesome as the episodes. Do not limit yourself to just tweens or FBF either; if you stay open-minded to using both equally then your creativity and skills will greatly improve. No rush, dude. =3
dude...I COMPLETELY understand...Take a break! Take as much time as you need to make em. even if it takes you a while and once you feel like things are going your way again if your results are what you want em to be THEN release it to us. Not just for the sake of us seeing it, but for you to enjoy what you're doing at a pace that you feel you can do it at and THEN being able to share it with us. REMEMBER, it's YOUR animations. Do whatever you feel you need to do. From my POV, I'd rather see something that I know one poured their inspired heart into, rather than watching something that appears to be rushed. It makes the experience so much better. Also, I'm sure you'll get a lot of flamers who will say crap like... I dunno, but it'll be the usual crap that goes around. Don't worry about them; take your time, get your inspiration back, and show what you REALLY can do! You got fans who support you and your decisions!
its the same problem with write in a good book you will eventualy run in to a wall were you can take one of three paths path 1 keep going and get a crapy product, path 2 take a small break and regain all the passion that you had, or path 3 which is the right path for some and the wrong for others which is to just give up when you hit the wall i have done all 3 and i use flash to clear my mind

dude, seems like you had 2 options: pump out sub-par animations and lose alot of fans, not to mention the satisfaction of animating, or take your time with it, get that vibe back, and create something totally epic. I can completely relate to you Scoot, it looks like this fate is destined for every animator/artist who gets into the internet. I used to draw/animate for fun and now I feel like I'm just doing these things to impress people online. Of course it's my goal to tell people a story that I've created but it's very pressuring.
You and my boyfriend seem to have the same problem. He's an animator too, and he needs to be reminded to slow down every once in awhile because he forgets that it isn't a job. You're doing this for fun. If you aren't happy with what you're making, then you're losing the point as to why you started animating in the first place. It's good that you're taking a break. It means that you're taking the time to find your love for animating again.

Animations, Songs, Stories.......everything has pressure to be completed. Everything has ups and downs. Don't worry, I may be a story writer and don't understand the animation world entirely but I understand pressure and perfection. Take your time and complete it when you can.
Yo scoot this is just another comment on ur list but just saying good luck personally u know the breaks get tiring but that's just the inpatient part of me I believe this is good for u and is required to make a amazing animation so I say go with the break u need it just if it doesn't get in ur way and hell might get ur inspiration back but could u write the scripts and story for the upcoming episodes on your break man I actually think it could be good for u.
People request more and more because of greed. Most YouTubers believe that the creators can make everything in a flash, not thinking about the human being behind the creation. When they request something, such as make things faster, they are doing for their own good. To those who are donating, are you doing this because of his videos, or that you actually care for him, and wish him props? I am sickened from the people who those are selfish, greedy, and otherwise idiots. (Count on the reply)

Yes, this will probably reduce your subscribers, but, those who are still left are those who love your videos and understands that animations is difficult, or people who have left YouTube for awhile. i'm stuck with my writeing now. i ant come up with anything anymore, hell i havent been doing any writeing sence last month! and it's bugging me! i even took an intire day to get things writen down and on the end of it i still had a blank page infrunt of me!...this year's been bad for creativity!
I understand 100% what you're saying. I work with a 3-D image program called maya for the fun of it, never made videos for the internet, don't know if I will. But I do it because I enjoy it, and that makes working out all the little kinks easier. Take all the time you need. I'll wait patiently until the next production's on newgrounds.

If you can't think of it as fun anymore, then think of it as practice for the future, you did say you wanted to work as an animator correct? Aight so a few things.After seeing Silent Hill 5 I went Out and Bought it today at Harford Mall :P yeah I love those kind of games. Really In my Opinion Your "break" probably is your best idea yet because the animation yes is good but sorry It COULD be better just in my opinion um lets soo what else um o yeah A.E. is good but this Chapter Zero thing is bugging me so yeah that pretty much sums things up for now and I know this sounds stupid but check Out SumoPaint whenever you get the chance

i completely understand man. iv been trying to write my own comic with my friend doing the art. I know what i want to do with the story and the characters but i just cant figure out how to go from panel to panel from event to event smoothly and how to portray it. so take your time, do your best, and enjoy it. Because if you dont have fun with it who will.

Take your time with your product of evolution Scoot. I figure that you're taking a break for the same reason I have yet to start making my animation. It's a form of regaining that exhilaration of creation! However, to animate your ideas as well as depict them as perfectly as you imagine is no simple task. I'd suggest looking out for things in the environment, and watching a crapload of movies and twist things around to fit your thoughts. :P Take your time.

What I'm saying is: Only you should care how good your stuff is, the rest of the internet's opinions about how good or bad your animations are aren't as important as your opinion.

Hey, I finally got a wacom tablet for Christmas, and I've had practically 0 time to do any animation. If I don't feel like drawing I don't. You shouldn't have to either. I've got like, half of a video done, and I don't even want to finish it now :P

I'm a big fan of your work and i'm just one of hundreds of thousands. Personally, I'm a story writer myself who just sticks with word documents and posting them on a forum site for 5 people to read. Those 5 people keep me going with my writing cause they're the only ones ill show them to. Truth is, i'm somewhat afraid of judgement, however i don't give a living fuck if people think they're terrible or not. I put my ideas on paper and I do it for fun. I hope to more of your work Scoot.

I know how you feel, when I started doing comics when I was 17, I was horribly bad doing the body anatomy. Head squared, long neck, short legs, etc...:P
I still doing some comics here and there and I'm still leaning the human anatomy(really learning the anatomy) But I'm still bad dong the female anatomy. And that's what I'm learning right now(Beautiful but yea).:D

That's... sad. Take some time off to gather yourself. Try to think back and re-realize what made you want to animate back in the beginning. Review some of your original work, and just... think about it. People may oppose this, but maybe you should do something else for a while. I hope you find your spirit again.

Take all the time in the world man. I have noticed that A.E. Chinicles seems to take several pointers from "Silent Hill" (for example, the organic looking bridge from A.E. ch 0 ep 1) which isn't bad, but the fact you're doing Silent Hill shows that the next one will be MUCH more epic! The same goes for WHOOKOS to Azgamanga Dio (mostly hanging out and you all have nicknames). You guys even inspired me and my friends to give eachother nick names. keep up the great work. Scoot, don't let anything hinder you from doing what you love. I know what you mean when you say you feel about how you are creating another world. I love watching your animations and they bring such joy and light to anyone's dark day.
But being able to enjoy it and bring light to yourself is what its about as well. When you get that feeling back it will show in your animations. You already have many fans who will wait forever for you and I am one of them.

Dude, you are AMAZING!!!!! Don't give up, everything you do looks good despite some people's opinions. It is fair to take a break, you released 2 episodes of WHOOKOS at once, AT ONCE!!! I know the difference about creating/drawing/animating a story. But there's one thing that will be always the same. Your relation with the fans of these stories. I know it's stressing to do a good animation and you don't want to disappoint your fans. But if you relax a little and go do things you want to do, your animations somehow will get better. I'm gonna tell something: Even the animes aren't that perfection about animation. Believe me... Also get better!

Dude, can't wait too see the great new episodes for WHOOSKOS and A. E. Chronics. They're hilarious and gives this 'can relate' feel to it. When I noticed the bar wasn't moving for productivity on new episodes I thought this was done and a piece of me died right there xD

Dude, you said that Whookos didn't care what people think. I know that's not completely true about anyone, no matter what they say, but the reality is this: If you want ti impress and get praise from ppl on the internet, continue the Zelda uo series. If not, then maybe animating simply for yourself, friends and family again is best for you. You may benefit from it, but it's up to you.

Don't feel down about your animations Scoot, you've been doing amazing work! Even these new ones just made feel so incredibly happy! I know how you feel though with the animation in a way, for me, I wrote three versions of a story I cherished because the first and second versions of it...to me felt not enough or just flat out SUCKED! but your animation have been without a doubt amazing! Dude, it's cool to take your time. I just joined your site not too long ago and began watching both WHOOKOS and A.E on recommendation from a friend and both story-lines are frikin awesome!
Needless to say, we are both well satisfied with how things have been going (voice/animation/etc) but if you feel that you can do better, hey- no complaints here Scoot!

I used to not be able to finish a single FanFic but recently Iv come up with 2 ideas for 1-shots (uploaded recently) and also chapter 1&2 for another (uploaded ch. 1). Try and find your "im creating a whole ne world here" excitment and get outof that slump and show us what you can really do!

I kind of had a feeling that inspiration was somewhat the case... recently I was watching your A.E Beta animation. Old whookos Halloween special 2006... old whookos animations.. all that. Then...I watch some of your newer things released in 2010 and... It just didn't feel the same. To be honest It didn't even feel like I was watching the same animator, Not saying the old animations are great or better but.... Your new work just dosen't have that .... same excitement that same "Imagination"

I would spend some time just thinking about how the episodes will look, scene by scene. Keep asking yourself, "How can I make this look more awesome?" and see where your creativity will take you. You might not get your ideas right away, but when you do you will feel just as awesome as the episodes. Do not limit yourself to just tweens or FBF either; if you stay open-minded to using both equally then your creativity and skills will greatly improve. No rush, dude. =3

Do whatever you feel you need to do. From my POV, I'd rather see something that I know one poured their inspired heart into, rather than watching something that appears to be rushed. It makes the experience so much better. Also, I'm sure you'll get a lot of flamers who will say crap like... I dunno, but it'll be the usual crap that goes around. Don't worry about them; take your time, get your inspiration back, and show what you REALLY can do! You got fans who support you and your decisions!

its the same problem with write in a good book you will eventualy run in to a wall were you can take one of three paths path 1 keep going and get a crapy product, path 2 take a small break and regain all the passion that you had, or path 3 which is the right path for some and the wrong for others which is to just give up when you hit the wall i have done all 3 and i use flash to clear my mind

You and my boyfriend seem to have the same problem. He's an animator too, and he needs to be reminded to slow down every once in awhile because he forgets that it isn't a job. You're doing this for fun. If you aren't happy with what you're making, then you're losing the point as to why you started animating in the first place. It's good that you're taking a break. It means that you're taking the time to find your love for animating again.

I don't know where your going to find your inspiration but I know where I get mine, from watching video's (its not the best place for finding inspiration or the best thing to do) or simply looking at idea's (not like requests or stuff like that).

i'm stuck with my writeing now. i ant come up with anything anymore, hell i havent been doing any writeing sence last month! and it's bugging me! i even took an intire day to get things writen down and on the end of it i still had a blank page infrunt of me!...this year's been bad for creativity!

I understand 100% what you're saying. I work with a 3-D image program called maya for the fun of it, never made videos for the internet, don't know if I will. But I do it because I enjoy it, and that makes working out all the little kinks easier. Take all the time you need. I'll wait patiently until the next production's on newgrounds.

That's the thing about plans, they usually never go according to plan, no matter how good it is. If you can't think of it as fun anymore, then think of it as practice for the future, you did say you wanted to work as an animator correct? Do it as you think, not what others think, this is yours and no one else's. But be ready, if you quit you're going to get a lot of hate mail from angry fans. Its like fanfiction, do it with care.

Aight so a few things.After seeing Silent Hill 5 I went Out and Bought it today at Harford Mall :P yeah I love those kind of games. Really In my Opinion Your "break" probably is your best idea yet because the animation yes is good but sorry It COULD be better just in my opinion um lets soo what else um o yeah A.E. is good but this Chapter Zero thing is bugging me so yeah that pretty much sums things up for now and I know this sounds stupid but check Out SumoPaint whenever you get the chance

i completely understand man. iv been trying to write my own comic with my friend doing the art. I know what i want to do with the story and the characters but i just cant figure out how to go from panel to panel from event to event smoothly and how to portray it. so take your time, do your best, and enjoy it. Because if you dont have fun with it who will.

scoot, you have inspired me to play star fox 64 and super mario 64 again (im doing it with a computer emulater, even though i have super mario 64 lol) and i actully added the silent hill your playing now to my wishlist on steam (actully...i got the idea to play silent hill games because of a map on L4D...but it was the only one lol) anyway...ima shut up, let everying get back to their loves and stop almost running into the character limit on youtube (not a good example right here)

Take your time with your product of evolution Scoot. I figure that you're taking a break for the same reason I have yet to start making my animation. It's a form of regaining that exhilaration of creation! However, to animate your ideas as well as depict them as perfectly as you imagine is no simple task. I'd suggest looking out for things in the environment, and watching a crapload of movies and twist things around to fit your thoughts. :P Take your time.
