first off i love the comic, second i could give a shit about you and your opinion, third its not that i love tim buckley but the fact that i love his work i could give a crap about him. You seriously need to stop ragging on other people and get a freaking life.
I've been looking for proof for that story like a newspaper article or any other reliable source of info and cannot find a damn thing that proves you correct.
He probably didn't GIS Venice until the last second. If you GIS Venice, all the photos are taken from the water or have people in the background. He probably panicked and retconned their destination before he (if ever) found out Venice has lovely, easy-to-draw beaches.
I'm pretty sure most of CAD's readerbase only read CAD (or other gaming comics, most of which are terrible.) Show a CAD-fan a good webcomic and his brain'll explode. They only find the "jokes/plots/characters" funny because to them, they're fresh, new and original. They have nothing to compare it to.

It's a cartoon, dude: not an Eisner award-winning piece of artwork. If we used that for a criticism then everybody would have hated Scooby-Doo and the Flintstones, too.

That means that that comic makes him a bunch of money, which is really only possible with an audience. Every time you guys draw attention to CAD by bitching about it, the word gets out and he gets more traffic and thus, more money. You're helping him make his living.
Just because someone makes money off of it doesn't mean he's talented or respected, it just means he found enough people (i.e. 'idiots') to pay him for whatever output he has. People pay Eric Bauman for his output, and he's just a dirty plagarist. He and Tim Buckley would get along fine, I think.

Yes, I'm aware of that: what I was getting at is that whenever people bash Buckley's stuff it just draws more attention to him and he makes more cash. This stuff doesn't hurt him at all. If you read some his his postings he doesn't give a flying f*** about people disliking his work. He probably loves people like you out here whaling on it because it helps him pay the bills every month... and buy every new damned game that comes out.

Well, you're certainly entitled to your own opinion. If you don't like it then that's okay, you don't have to read it.
I'm just sayin' that despite the apparent hatred for him by select groups: he does enjoy a certain degree of success. I don't understand why people like South Park, but that's successful too. It's just taste. Perhaps the best word to describe CAD is that it's *average*. It certainly doesn't do anything exceptional: but then it isn't nearly as bad as some comics out there.
Tim Buckley is in fact the webcomic equivalent of Carlos Mencia.
He may have been able to get his work out from the fog of the unknown, building up a fanbase around it and making money out of it. But that doesn't stop it from being unfunny, lazy, copied *cough*stolen*cough* from better artists, downright bad most of the time and mediocre at best.
@EyeoftheU mediocre is about the best that can be said for CAD. Sadly it's not bad enough to be entertaining and there's a certain lack of accomplishment by reading (or watching) any of them!
